The Opportunity

  As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer you will work on the development of the Next Generation Analytic Decisioning Platform. You will be part of a highly energetic team of software engineers to create the next generation platform for FICO’s transaction analytic capabilities. You will lead the development of transactional processing of high-volume, low latency decisioning and backend analytic applications. This will involve developing, integrating, and deploying this backend with other platform FICO components in AWS. These capabilities embody patented and unique market value that drives critical business value in a high growth area. What You’ll Contribute

  • Integrate with an Agile Team to rapidly develop and deploy features, with emphasis on teamwork, feedback, and information sharing.

  • Work with stakeholders to comprehend and provide feedback on the business requirements of the platform capability.

  • Work closely with product managers to understand priorities and usage scenarios of product features.

  • Work with architects to drive architecture for the software platform capability.

  • Collaborate with working groups of software engineers to create software engineering standards, guidance, and processes.

  • Continuously improve engineering practices for the software platform to support efficiency, reliability, and serviceability goals.

  • Assist research, case studies, and prototypes on technologies to ensure the software platform remains the leading AI, ML analytic and decisioning platform.

  • Work closely with technology suppliers to address FICO’s technological needs.

  • Collaborate with QA engineers to design and implement tests.

What We’re Seeking

  • Experience creating, documenting, and communicating software designs for complex products.

  • In depth experience designing, building, deploying, and operating commercial software that provides a composable platform executing in low micro milliseconds at scale.

  • Experience operating a critical runtime component that uses observability to diagnose root cause.

  • Experience with supporting production software deployments in AWS.

  • Strong hands-on coding experience in C/C++ and Java. Python experience preferred.

  • Hands-on experience deploying on cloud infrastructure and experience with AWS cloud technologies.

  • Experience with managing containers like Docker & Kubernetes control planes ecosystem is highly desirable.

  • Skilled with API first, domain-driven, event-driven, and microservice architectures.

  • Proficient in building, tracking, and communicating progress within Agile processes.

  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems and Unix scripting.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Git, Jira, Maven, Jenkins. Github.

  • Experience with both relational and non-relational databases like Oracle and Couchbase.

  • Experience with Data transfer and service protocols like JSON, XML, gRPC, REST, TCP.

  • Experience with caching technologies highly desired.

  • Mentoring and coaching developing engineers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or relevant experience.
