The Lead system Engineer will engineer, implement, test, and document systems and components commensurate with their experience under the limited supervision of more engineering staff in support of a systems engineering effort.

Essential Job Functions:

Core Platforms and Services: 

  • Microsoft M365 including Exchange Online 
  • Entra ID incl Conditional Access, SAML, SCIM 
  • M365 CoPilot, specifically how to leverage M365 security controls to ensure data security when deploying M365 CoPilot. 
  • Active Directory 
  • Active Directory Federation Services 
  • Network File Servers incl Distributed File System Namespaces 

Other technologies we support: 

  • PKI Certificate Services, including SCEP and OCSP 
  • BYOD for iOS and Android
  • Small footprint on on-prem assets.

Functions:

  • Review and analyze complex process and system specifications 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for one or more areas (preferably Azure, M365, and Entra ID) 
  • Designs, implements, customizes, and maintains solutions to vendor and industry best practices (in particular, Microsoft best practices) 
  • Recommends and leads implementation of enhancements and updates adherence to Change Management processes 
  • Ability to participate in technical and business discussions relative to future enterprise direction. Provides strategic consulting to business and IT leaders. Works with business leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology trade-offs influence strategy. 
  • Lead/Co-lead internal project/program level process improvement initiatives. Provide feedback on processes by offering suggestions 
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools 
  • Implements and updates monitoring tools 
  • Champion the collaborative resolution of defects 
  • Informally mentor more junior staff 
  • Assist with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls 
  • Ensure all work products meets /exceeds FINRA standards 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least seven (7) years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience; Master’s degree and past Financial Services industry experience preferred.
  • Past senior level systems administrator experience in a production data center environment.
  • Knowledge of industry leading monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of at least one operating system and at least one contemporary scripting language.
  • Knowledge of communication and network technologies.
  • Exposure to common operational practices like metrics reporting, change management, incident management, problem management and communication ITIL & ISO:9000 framework experience/certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships that improved the quality of work products.
  • Should be well organized, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain focus and develop proficiency in new skills rapidly.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent planning skills.
  • Willingness to accept new challenges and grasp new or changing concepts, technologies and procedures.

Work Conditions:

  • Primarily remote with work performed in an office environment as needed/required. 

For work that is performed in CA, CO, HI, MN, VT, IL, Jersey City, NJ, NY, NY, MD, Washington DC, and WA the chart below outlines the proposed salary range for the corresponding location. In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.

CA: Minimum Salary $124,300, Maximum Salary $235,500

CO/HI/MN/VT*: Minimum Salary $108,200, Maximum Salary $196,200

IL*: Minimum Salary $119,200, Maximum Salary $215,900
Jersey City, NJ/NY, NY: Minimum Salary $129,800, Maximum Salary $235,500

MD/Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $124,300, Maximum Salary $225,700

WA: Minimum Salary $108,200, Maximum Salary $225,700

*Including positions performed outside the state but reporting to an office or manager in that state.

Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range. FINRA provides full pay ranges so that the candidate can consider their growth potential while at FINRA.
