We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to add value to our growth activities by identifying new commercial opportunities and managing commercial efforts and discipline across Sales and Partnerships. You will keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to upper management while ensuring success metrics of each team are met. You will be an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong leadership skills, someone with creative strategies and excellent organizational abilities. Success will be achieving quantitative targets (financials e.g. GTV, Revenue, Profitability & non-financials e.g. customer acquisition, retention, etc.) as well as delivering a world class customer experience to ensure FSMK and CU have an excellent brand representation in the market.

What you will do: 

  • Accountable for top and bottom line P&L achievements (GTV, Revenue, Profitability) and, raising and resetting the bar consistently
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives, to accelerate growth.
  • Drive consistent new client acquisition across product lines and customer segments to achieve targets.
  • Serve as the overall subject matter expert for the payment business, staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on your expertise, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the Sales and Partnerships team to drive profitable growth and deliver an exceptional customer experience at all times via a scalable sales machinery
  • Manage the sales team in pipeline discipline, taking a data driven approach to managing performance and report to senior management on commercial activities using key metrics.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for the sales teams to enhance overall business knowledge.
  • Act as the go-to person for the sales team regarding segment-specific knowledge, providing guidance on customer pain points, industry regulations, and product / service positioning.
  • Collaborate across sales teams and other departments e.g. compliance, operations, and product to ensure that products and services align with the unique requirements of the customer segments, whilst balancing risks
  • Source relevant new commercial, negotiate commercial arrangements and execute whether via sales, marketing or product development to achieve revenue targets.
  • Create value by driving referrals across B2B and B2C partners and maintain performance analysis per partner.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 8 years of payments experience and team leadership experience.
  • Extensive SME payments experience
  • A passion for meeting the needs of the customer and generating maximum benefit from each customer interaction.
  • Proven track record of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and delivering an exceptional customer experience at the same time
  • An adaptable to constantly changing requirements, and to be independent and highly disciplined.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills and personal qualities of integrity, credibility and quality
