About the role:
As a Senior Technical Writer at Galileo, you’ll join a team delivering high-quality documentation that helps business users and developers meet their business goals with Galileo’s product and API platform.
- Youll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and subject-matter experts across the company to write and maintain API documentation, product guides, and code examples for a highly flexible and complex financial technology platform.
- You’ll also help evolve our documentation toolchain to meet changing business, technology, and user needs.
- To be successful in this role, youll need strong technical skills, incessant curiosity, the ability to both zoom out on the big picture and zoom in on the details, and an essential drive to leave things better than you found them.

What you’ll do:
- Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation for Galileos clients, developers, and internal teams that clearly and accurately describe how to leverage our products and API platform.
- Effectively manage behind-the-scenes content using a combination of third-party apps, dev tools, and homegrown tooling.
- Investigate gaps and pain points in our documentation toolchain, and propose and implement improvements to keep up with evolving business, technology, and user needs.
- Independently identify the right internal resources, interview stakeholders, and validate information with subject matter experts for all documentation you write.
- Develop and communicate documentation, project plans, and timelines that align with multiple teams go-to-market activities for new products, adapting appropriately to shifting priorities.
- Continually learn, unlearn, and relearn what our audiences need to be successful, and reorient content and project plans accordingly.
- Proactively seek and respond to feedback on existing documentation in a timely, efficient, and thoughtful manner.
- Collaborate with other writers to give and receive feedback on content drafts, reflect on team processes and resources, and iterate on the ways we work together to meet changing needs over time.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent practical experience) and 5+ years in technical communication.
- Experience working with engineers to document APIs during development.
- Proficiency in Git and ability to read and understand source code.
- Experience with docs-as-code and OpenAPI specifications.
- Superior written and verbal English communication skills.
- Excellent strategic thinking and tactical execution skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to take initiative, navigate ambiguity, and work independently while maintaining alignment across a team.
- Existing knowledge of at least one fintech sector (digital banking, card issuing, payment processing, etc.).
Nice to have:
- Experience using and integrating AI tools with technical documentation.
- Experience working in multiple content management systems, including ReadMe.
- Experience creating complementary technical resources in multiple media/modes (e.g. textual guides, visual illustrations and diagrams, GIFs, and video).
