With this massive mission, we are seeking a Distinguished Engineer to join our Finance Technology organization  

 

In this role you will drive the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap specializing in Workday Financials to ensure all digital assets operate in a highly reliable, responsive and efficient way. You will help drive our transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership in the continuous improvement and deployment of the Workday Financial system 

  • Principal lead for architecture reviews involving core Finance Technologies and mission-critical services 

  • Build and maintain a technical roadmap that aligns with stakeholders needs and want 

  • Lead the full SDLC including technical research, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance 

  • Present a vision and technology recommendations with clarity and simplicity to stakeholders having varying degrees of technology fluency 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to maintain reliable and durable production systems and lead the technical direction of the Workday Financial system 

  • Foster effective collaboration and mentor junior engineers ensuring associate growth and development 

  • Manage the technical aspects of vendor relationships and make technology adoption recommendations 

Candidate Qualifications and Skills 

  • Proven experience in a technology leadership role supporting Workday Financials 

  • Expert-level knowledge of Workday Financial, Prism and Accounting Center, architecture, methodologies, and principles 

  • Deep knowledge of Workday development tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, BIRT, Workday Cloud Platform - Extend and Orchestrate) 

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standard 

  • Exemplary ability to design, perform experiments, and influence engineering direction and product roadmap 

  • Experience architecting and developing a mix of custom and third-party solutions to support strategic initiatives 

  • Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving operational efficiency and automation 

 

Required Experience 

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience implementing ERP Workday Financials, HCM, Payroll etc. 

  • 8+ years of experience with architecture and design within the Workday ecosystem  

  • 8+ years of Finance and HCM Technology experience 

  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks, middleware and cloud platforms e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP  

 

Education 

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Location Home Office, US Based, Eastern or Central time zones preferred 


 

Annual Salary

$130,000.00 - $300,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
