Purpose
Complete assigned financials review up to $ 250,000 approval limit, handle requests to update
information/parameters on existing accounts in a timely manner.
Essential Responsibilitie
Complete scheduled periodic reviews of an assigned portfolio with a focus on medium and high-risk portfolio merchants and ensure that no reviews are past due.
Provide credit decision on matters related to existing merchant relationships in conformity with the Canadian and World-Wide Credit Policies and within $ 250,000 approval limit.
Complete follow-up credit reviews of recently boarded merchants referred by Credit Underwriting.
Adjudicate add-on applications for existing merchants where the incremental risk exposure materially exceeds already approved thresholds.
Adjudicate new merchant applications as assigned by management.
Re-adjudicate merchants due to ownership, legal name, bank account, signing officers or other changes for all direct and ESA merchants.
Re-adjudicate accounts referred by the Risk Analysis team for violation of approved risk parameters (i.e. processing volume, average transaction size, high ticket, and card-not-present) as well as by the Risk Investigation and Fraud teams on other identified issues.
Evaluate and make sound recommendations to Senior Credit Review Analysts and Team Lead on accounts exceeding individual approval authority.
Complete timely reviews triggered by merchants’ requests to consider the release of held collateral, removal of guarantees, delayed funding or other risk-mitigating conditions.
Review merchants’ requests to re-open accounts, increase of approved high transaction limits, MCC code and business model changes.
Complete ad-hoc reviews of portfolio merchants (e.g. furniture, travel, airline, marijuana etc.).
Maintain and update merchant credit files with all relevant documentation and correspondence (e.g. financials, contracts, credit approvals, write-ups etc.).
Place merchants on reserve and release held funds within approval limits.
Coordinate with the Loss Department the transfer and application of reserve funds.
Provide approvals to Masterfile regarding changes resulting from business combinations (corporate acquisitions, divestitures, amalgamations).
Provide effective assistance with the management of the Canadian Credit Review, Canadian Risk Credit Review and Canadian Name Change mailboxes by ensuring all requests are handled within established SLAs to prevent escalations or merchant attrition. Assist the Senior Credit Review Analysts and Team Lead with the handling of urgent issues.
Prepare formal letters regarding requests for financials, NDAs, cross-guarantee and other required documentation.
Ensure the Credit Review team’s productivity goals and objectives are met consistently.
Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external clients via articulate and effective communication.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with high proficiency in interpreting financial data
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience recommended in a financial or accounting role.
Ability to follow all company policies and procedures as well as internal departmental procedures to ensure consistency
Ability to work in a team-driven environment, yet be able to work independently to complete daily tasks
Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills
Strong knowledge of credit analysis procedures and techniques
Ability to complete assigned tasks within established deadlines and with limited supervision
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to investigate and assess issues to make certain the correct solution is implemented
Excellent communications and writing skills to communicate financial information to high-level managers
Willingness to take ownership for own work to continuously improve performance
Ability to prioritize work and set own performance objectives
Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization to meet daily performance expectations
Must be detail-oriented, with excellent planning and organizational skills to provide accurate, fact-based analysis
English – Ability to communicate clearly in English (Writing/Speaking).
