We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Platform Intern to join our team at Greenlight Financial Technology. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, and data architecture within a growing fintech environment. The ideal candidate will assist our data team in building, maintaining, and optimizing our data infrastructure while learning industry best practices.
What you will be doing:
- Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines using modern data tools
- Support the implementation of data models using dbt (data build tool)
- Help with data quality testing and validation processes
- Contribute to documentation of data systems and processes
- Participate in data analysis projects to extract insights from our data platform
- Assist with ETL/ELT processes and data transformations
- Support the team in troubleshooting data-related issues
- Learn about data governance and compliance requirements in fintech
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements
- Participate in code reviews to develop best practices
What you should bring:
- A 3.0 GPA or higher
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Basic understanding of SQL and data manipulation conceptsInterest in data engineering, analytics, and/or data architecture
- Familiarity with Python or other programming languages (preferred)
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and tools
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and collaboration abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to data quality
