Hasbro’s Corporate Royalty Accounting group is looking for a Senior Accountant, Royalties to join our team! This role will report to the Manager of Accounting, Royalties. This is a dynamic, high-touch role in our team that is responsible for royalty revenue accounting and reporting at our publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar global play and entertainment company. This role will be a key contributor to the royalty accounting process, specializing in revenue recognition, month-end close processes, account reconciliations and analyses with efficiency and accuracy.

 

This role can be based remotely in the US and requires the ability to work Eastern Time hours and approximately 25% travel to our office in Rhode Island.

 

 A day in the life of the Senior Accountant, Royalties:

  • Manage royalty revenue accounting program under ASC 606, including but not limited to accurate calculation and account classifications. 
  • Oversee the process of tracking licensee guarantee and overage payments, managing past due reporting, and communicating with licensees.
  • Provide leadership and development to maintain a motivated and effective staff.
  • Partner with business operations and finance business partners to ensure royalty accounting is aligned to business and operational needs.
  • Implement continuous improvement and modernization efforts across royalty system and business process to ensure an efficient system and business processes.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to assist in their completion of audits.
  • Build relationships and regular communication with operational leaders to provide direct and timely assistance on matters that have accounting and reporting implications.
  • Complete ad hoc projects.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years public accounting experience and/or public company experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. A comprehensive knowledge of ASC 606 is preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing and understanding contracts; knowledge of licensing industry and royalty accounting preferred.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and contribute efficiently and optimally in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

 

Compensation Range, Currency USD:

  • Starting Pay Range:  $68,500
  • Pay Range End:  $130,500
