What You’ll Do

 We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Insurance Product Manager to lead the development and management of our insurance products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance product development, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will be instrumental in driving product strategy, ensuring compliance, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

As Insurance Product Development Manager - you will act as a key member of the department by providing expertise in the areas of insurance product planning and development, filings, and compliance of new products and the implementation of changes to our existing products, in the property and general liability lines of business across all of our states.

  • Lead the research, development, and ongoing maintenance of coverage forms and endorsements to support both new and existing insurance products.
  • Oversee the complete filing lifecycle, including drafting, developing, finalizing, and submitting product forms, rates, and rules to regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend adjustments to products, coverages, policies, rates, and forms to ensure alignment with market demands and regulatory changes.
  • Design and document detailed user specifications to provide technical guidance for the development of new products.
  • Prepare and submit formal filings to state insurance departments for approval of new or revised product forms, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver underwriting guidance, training programs, and process updates to support profitable product execution.
  • Review technical specifications, quality assurance procedures, and related documentation (e.g., manuals, rates, forms) to ensure accuracy and alignment with product goals.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior management and lead the execution of product strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Manage compliance projects with a comprehensive understanding of state laws and regulations, ensuring that operations adhere to all statutory requirements and implementing necessary changes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • This position can be relevant for candidates in the Midwest or East Coast 

 

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance product management, with demonstrated expertise in compliance and regulatory management.
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles, regulations, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and develop actionable compliance insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using product management and analytics tools.
  • Proficient in ISO or AAIS, Excel, and SERFF, with a strong understanding of insurance industry standards and tools.
