Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced data analysis, machine learning, and statistical models to solve critical cybersecurity challenges, drive innovation, and improve decision-making across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large cybersecurity datasets
  • Develop predictive models to enhance cybersecurity measures
  • Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders to support strategic cybersecurity and modernization efforts
  • Apply Natural Language Processing techniques to cybersecurity data
  • Utilize machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and anomalies in security data
  • Contribute to the development of data-driven cybersecurity solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into security operations
  • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in data science and cybersecurity

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of three years of experience as a data scientist, with at least one year of experience working with cybersecurity datasets
  2. Strong analytical background and knowledge of Natural Language Processing
  3. Extensive experience with Python and data science libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and TensorFlow

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and common attack vectors
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based data analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence and security information and event management (SIEM) systems
  • Experience with data privacy and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Proficiency in other programming languages relevant to data analysis (e.g., R, Java, Scala)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are a plus

This position is contingent on contract award.
