Position Summary
The conversion lead is responsible for working directly with advancement clients to map and convert their existing legacy system data into Salesforce. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge of advancement data and use cases to work directly with the client to provide guidance on data mapping and translations to Salesforce. You will also serve as a developer, working both independently and with other developers to write SQL scripts to extract and transform the client’s source data into the format needed for Salesforce. The conversion lead must be experienced with SQL and have little trouble moving between Oracle, SQL Server, and other database platforms.Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Lead development of the client’s data conversion strategy in alignment with Huron’s practice standards.
- Provide the client with guidance on establishing the data conversion environment(s) and tools necessary to facilitate the conversion workstream.
- Prepare supporting materials, such as process documentation and presentations, to effectively support the client’s understanding of the data conversion process.
- Actively participate in cross-functional project teams implementing Salesforce to ensure an understanding of the client’s use cases for their legacy data in Salesforce.
- Partner with the client to establish strategies for data clean up and to support prioritization of data that should be converted from the legacy system to Salesforce.
- Lead client-facing data mapping sessions to identify and document all legacy system data to be moved to Salesforce.
- Lead team of developers to execute and troubleshoot script development, extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Complete multiple test loads and final data conversion.
- Implement and oversee internal quality assurance processes related to data conversion activities.
- Investigate source and target systems to determine possible data migration strategies and actions
- Relevant Skills & Experience
- 5 years of related experience in the areas of data conversion, data analysis, or database management, preferably in an advancement organization.
- BS or BA, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce APIs and importing data into Salesforce preferred.
- Advanced expertise in SQL and Excel.
- Knowledge of fundraising systems (e.g., Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, Banner, Advance, etc.)
- Possess effective time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks on time.
- Skill to solve problems efficiently and creatively on your own.
- Ability to lead other SQL developers through the data conversion process from beginning to end.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data conversion and migration problems and take corrective action
- Investigate system databases to determine how the database system interacts with the system user interface to find relevant tables and data points.
The estimated base salary for this job is $120,000 - $155,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $134,400 - $182,900. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
