Data Catalog & Data Quality Lead
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Juniper is seeking a highly skilled Techno-functional analyst with 6+ years of experience in Data Catalog, Data Quality, Data management. Data Catalog & Data Quality analyst will work closely with data management leaders, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to implement and drive adoption of an enterprise business glossary and metadata solution. The new catalog will be comprised of a business glossary, governed and maintained by Juniper data stewards, and technical metadata, captured via automated processes. They should also lead and develop various data quality projects implementing data quality procedures using to improve on customer, contact and supplier data issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to lead a team to deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Become a champion of metadata management, showcasing its power through automation, governance, and data-driven insights
- Perform current state assessment of data catalog at Juniper and outline a meaningful roadmap and implementation plan that includes:
- Data model and role-based use cases, including the adoption of data discovery and data quality processes
- Mapping data catalog capabilities to data strategy and communicating the value of the data catalog based on supported business outcomes and data management process improvement
- Repeatable, sustainable processes to maintain business glossary data and technical metadata, including operational escalations or issues raised
- Lead the planning, roll out and management of the Juniper enterprise data catalog (Atlan), including creating an iterative plan to implement by feature, business team or strategic project across juniper teams (sales, service, marketing, engineering, legal) through onboarding, adoption, and innovation phases, maximizing their Atlan experience
- Perform Atlan administration activities including atlan setup; integrate Atlan seamlessly into complex tech stacks (SAP CRM/ECC, SFDC, Agile PLM, Eloqua, Channel Mechanics, etc,); adding and maintaining datasets; user management; troubleshooting technical issues with the catalog software
- Drive adoption for key use cases like data discovery, governance, classification, compliance and metric management; unlock innovation through automation and solutions like auto sensitive data detection and dynamic data pipeline management
- Leverages data management knowledge to maintain, define and implement data quality procedures, participates in development of data quality rules, thresholds, and standard metrics/quality-expectations for data elements that support critical business processes
- Deliver DQ solutions and capabilities to data stewards, including DQ dashboards to measure their business-critical data
- Lead the effort to create a DQ continuous improvement culture among the organization
- Implementing Oracle Enterprise Data Quality tool for data profiling, data cleansing, address validation data matching, survivorship, data quality integration service with consumer applications.
- Infrastructure setup, installation, implementation and maintenance of Atlan Data Catalog and Oracle EDQ tools and modules.
- Experience with Customer Master data management repositories, logical data models, data standards
- Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources – both internal and external
- Participate in the development of architectures, strategies, and policies around data governance, including master data management, metadata management, data quality and data profiling
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making. Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to and influencing stakeholders. Track record of building strong relationships across technical and business teams.
- Experience in writing user stories, integration specifications and business requirement documents.
- Experience with Agile scrum methodology; knowledge and ability to effectively participate in all agile ceremonies
Experience and Qualification
- 5+ years of data management experience, including one or more of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Analysis, Data Architecture, Data Security and Master Data Management
- 3+ years of hands on experience using vendor DQ tools preferably Oracle Enterprise Data Quality or Informatica Data Quality or similar
- 3+ years hands on experience in setup, ongoing maintenance of Atlan Data Catalog
- Experience with Oracle EDQ Address Validation, Atlan Data Catalog, Snowflake, SAP CRM, SFDC, is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of Relational Databases, Data Warehouses, SQL, ETL Tools, EDQ Javascript
- Ability to lead various data management and application implementation efforts across cross functional business units
- Ability to drive continuous improvement efforts and be a change agent
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively motivate people, instill accountability and demonstrate the value of data across a wide range of individuals, including product managers, system administrators, data stewards, executives, partner and customers
Minimum Salary: $117,600.00
Maximum Salary:$169,050.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $117,600.00 and $169,050.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
