We have implemented an exciting new “big data” approach to clinical testing. We are integrating the test results from our national testing business into an enterprise data warehouse to enable a variety of impactful data use cases. We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Medical Informaticist within our new Real World Data (RWD) Product Development group.

The Real World Data (RWD) Product Development team at Labcorp is seeking a Medical Informaticist to support the growing demand for RWD products and services. In this key role, you will contribute to the design, integration, and curation of complex healthcare data to drive actionable insights for internal stakeholders and commercial clients. You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering scalable, high-quality datasets that support research and commercial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute data integration projects across disparate healthcare data sources using standard interoperability protocols.

  • Develop healthcare data models and architectures aligned with industry standards to ensure scalable and consistent data structures.

  • Lead the semantic harmonization and curation of clinical data to support research initiatives, internal analyses, and commercial data agreements.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of contact for clinical informatics across multiple RWD projects and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Validate and ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, BSN, APRN), or
    Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s/MPH in a STEM field with 1+ year of relevant experience.

  • Hands-on experience in medical informatics, medical content management, or working with medical ontologies such as SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD-10, and LOINC.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, and Jupyter Notebooks.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and collaborative software development tools.

  • Strong knowledge of standard healthcare data models (e.g., OMOP, HL7 FHIR, SDTM) and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7 v2, X12, NCPDP, CCD-A).

  • Demonstrated ability in data modeling, querying, integration, harmonization, and applying data quality and standards.

  • Experience working with Real World Data across multiple therapeutic areas.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience developing fit-for-purpose datasets to support commercial data licensing agreements.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems through an iterative, analytical approach.

  • Comfortable learning new tools and methodologies to meet evolving business needs.

  • Track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.

Pay Range: $103,265 - $128,993

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. The position is also eligible for bonus and/or commissions under the applicable variable compensation plan.  Bonus/commissions are earned based on achievement of performance metrics under the plan.
