We are in search of a Security Engineer to support our Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) program. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the computer systems and networks.  You will be working closely with other IT professionals to identify and mitigate cyber threats and implement security solutions that protect the organization from cyber-attacks.  The candidate must possess strong communications skills and the demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Candidate MUST:

Be currently located in the United States.

Be US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain a level 4 Public Trust Clearance.

The position is remote, must be performed in the United States and the preferred candidate will be located in the DMV area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in our computer systems and networks.

  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Design and configure security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems and encryption systems.

  • Monitor network activity to identify potential threats and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.

  • Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents to determine the cause and extent of the breach.

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to implement security solutions that meet the needs of our organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ of providing security related support.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field and/or relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.

  • Experience with security assessment tools such as vulnerability scanners and penetration testing tools.

  • Familiar with security industry standards and regulations.

  • Ability to work/collaborate with different contractor and government teams as well as industry and vendors with a high level of professionalism, good judgment, and tact.

  • Active Public Trust Clearance or Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Required Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ (needs to be acquired within first 60 days)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CCSP Certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
