About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to work closely with our Product and Engineering teams. In this role, you will make an impact each day by building scalable, reliable infrastructure as well as supporting our current infrastructure. You will create amazing code, solve interesting puzzles, and work with a driven team that does all but the impossible. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role providing a world class customer experience by ensuring system and application uptime through continuous deployment, delivery, and optimization. Youll be successful in this role if you are passionate about IaC, love taking on challenges, and want to contribute to the expansion of a high growth startup.
What You’ll Do in the Role
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, VPC, Autoscaling, and Security Groups.
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitHub actions to automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
Monitor system performance and application uptime using observability platforms such as DataDog, and proactively address performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline code deployment and ensure smooth operations.
Enhance the reliability, security, and scalability of infrastructure by implementing Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
Write scripts and tools in Python and Bash to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Participate in incident response, troubleshoot issues, and provide on-call support to ensure system availability.
Stay informed of the latest trends in DevOps practices and cloud technologies, continuously improving infrastructure to meet business needs.
Qualifications
2+ years experience with Terraform
2+ years experience in AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, Autoscaling, Security Groups, AWS CLI, Cloud watch)
2+ years working on Linux servers
1+ year experience with Ansible
Bash experience
Experience with infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes
Experience with observability platforms such as DataDog
Excellent decision making and critical-thinking skills
Open to on-call rotation
Highly motivated and security minded
Additional Skills - Nice To Have:
MySQL experience
Python 3.7+ experience
Experience with security frameworks like SOC2, ISO 27001
Benefits
$110,000 - $165,000; New hires are typically hired at a salary between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on experience and internal equity.
