What we offer:
As a Global Mobility Partner at A.P. Maersk, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our global mobility strategy aligns with our business objectives and delivers an exceptional experience for our employees. Your role will be pivotal in managing and optimizing the end-to-end process of international assignments, relocations, and expatriate management, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance across all regions.
You will be responsible for providing a consistent and high-quality experience for our employees and their families as they move across borders, whether they are taking on new international assignments or returning home. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including HR, finance, legal, and external vendors, to develop and implement policies and processes that enhance employee satisfaction while managing costs and minimizing risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consultancy/advisory services for all cross-border hires on matters including but not limited to Maersk Global Mobility policies, processes, country compliance, cost estimates, to ensure cross border hires are set up correctly and compliantly. Ensure business and employee needs are met with good experience all round.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) and go-to person for all queries on all types of cross border hires
- Be the sparring partner/advisor/consultant for HR during the recruitment of all potential international candidates (new hires and internal) which includes but not limited to:
- Propose suitable GM policies for the hire by asking the right questions
- Answer queries on GM principles, methodologies, policies, processes and vendor services
- Be able to justify recommendation/s, explain decisions, policy elements and pitfalls and provide cost estimates of the various scenarios
- Assessment of cross border hires and ensure documentation
- Help with advice and explanation to the business
- Initiate assignments in the system, keeping home and host (or new home) HR in the loop until the employee is hired and settled in the new role
- Work with all relevant parties to ensure the international hire is set up correctly; from the review of employment contracts through to advising payrolls set up, compliance reporting and tax and SS set up
- Be aware of compliance challenges and be able to highlight them. Know when to seek further advice from external consultants without incurring unnecessary cost to company.
- Understand high level pension and social security implications and be able to explain them
- Understand the high level principles of tax and social security treaties, need for CoCs/A1s and be able to explain the basic principles
- Understand and be able to explain principles of payrolls and shadow payrolls for international cross border hires
- Know when to consult and work with key stakeholders in the assessment, advice and set up of cross border hires to ensure full compliance
- Advisor for the Exceptions process
- Be the feedback loop for Global Mobility
Preferred experience & skills:
- Minimum 12 years global mobility experience
- EUROPE region knowledge and specialization preferred
- Candidates with tax and/or immigration background preferred
- Excellent at problem solving, resilient, collaborative, think big picture yet with an eye for details, analytical
- Great communication and people skills at all levels of the organization
