Sales Training and Development Director plays a vital role in leading and growing our Pelvic Health portfolio training strategy.

The Sales Training and Development Director plays a vital role in leading and growing our Pelvic Health portfolio training strategy. Building a high-performance training team, this leader will be responsible for the sales training and clinical education of our commercial team, launch excellence for new products and initiatives, and partnering with the VP of Sales and Regional Directors to deliver strategic pull-through and sales execution in the US.

Critical to the success of this mission is to leverage state-of-the-art learning methodologies to deliver interactive, engaging, and innovative education and solutions. This leader will strive to ensure our solutions are executable, scalable, and effectively deployed across the nation leading to universal adoption and utilization.

We are looking for a passionate, inspiring, and experienced leader who will support the strategic direction for the US Sales organization with a commitment to the highest standards of execution to meet the above vision. This role will drive the development of sales training strategy, high-impact training content and materials, support the training of sales processes, and analyze data trends to deliver training initiatives designed to improve revenue attainment.

  • Designs the learning strategies, training materials, and training plans to enable the commercial team to achieve targeted goals.

  • Utilizes various methodologies, techniques, technologies, and tools to build comprehensive training content and materials.

  • Works closely with marketing, IT, and product development teams to ensure training programs are aligned with company goals and product specifications.

  • Partners with field sales to understand needs, develop skill sets, and deliver training strategies that elevate performance and efficiencies.

  • Collaborates with business and functional partners to ensure solutions meet the needs of all stakeholders.

  • Ensures all training materials and programs comply with industry regulations and standards.

  • Communicates and conducts briefings with senior or executive leadership regarding training initiatives.

  • Designs, develops, and evaluates training content effectiveness and digital education delivery.

  • Defines and measures critical success metrics associated with the effectiveness and efficiency of training solutions to drive the ever-increasing value and impact of these solutions.

  • Leads, coaches, and mentors a staff of sales trainers and training meeting planning and logistics professionals.

  • Oversees the budget for the sales training and development department.

  • Location is Medtronic OHQ Minnesota. Working remote will be considered with travel up to 25%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in an education, training, sales, or clinical role with 7+ years of people or program managerial experience in the medical device or healthcare industry (8+ years with Advanced Degree)

  • With an advanced degree, 8+ years of relevant experience in an education, training, sales, or clinical role with 7+ years of people or program managerial experience in the medical device or healthcare industry

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of medical device industry practices, techniques, and standards

  • Prior experience in Neuromodulation and/or Pelvic Health

  • Exceptional coaching skills with expertise in coaching across different levels of the organization from Sr. Sales Leaders to individual contributors

  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources, integrating this information and formulating impactful strategic and tactical training plans

  • Proven ability to work effectively across a matrix organization, including scoping and leading projects with cross-business unit teams

  • Experience with management of financial plans, large-scale meeting planning, and vendors

  • Experience with content and curriculum development following Adult Learning Principles

  • Experience in sales rep certifications, knowledge retention, and performance assessment

  • Experience leading large-scale launches and initiative deployments

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, Cornerstone, Allego, Articulate, PowerPoint, and/or other leading training or content management tools.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$165,600.00 - $248,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
