A Day in the Life
We are looking for a Reimbursement Operations Analyst to join our Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement (HEPR) team. The primary objective of this role is to support the development & delivery of reimbursement, policy, and health economic data and tools to enable execution of reimbursement and customer support. The individual acts as a business partner to the cross-functional teams within the CRDN, SH&A, CS, and PVH Organizational Units (OUs).
This role offers the opportunity to establish and standardize policies and procedures for customer-facing reimbursement materials, including coding, coverage and payment topics.
Role and Responsibilities:
This role will develop a deep understanding of Medtronic HEPR US customer-facing documents and tools for OU products and therapies. This role will drive core projects forward to support overall process improvements, efficiencies, and improvement of cross-OU deliverables. This position requires a high attention to detail and the ability to think creatively and learn quickly to manage document and tool updates and craft process improvement solutions in a rapidly evolving business environment. This role will work closely with the U.S. HEPR team and cross-functional colleagues.
Supports and implements customer-facing reimbursement materials to support coverage, coding, and payment from payers (Medicare and commercial) for U.S. providers.
Supports US field customer support HEPR teams.
Functions confidently in a matrixed, complex organization to assess, recommend, and implement solutions, and is comfortable in fast-moving business environments. Works comfortably and adeptly with colleagues across multiple geographic settings, virtual and office-based, and with a variety of business functions.
Understands HEPR strategies within the broader business context to implement reimbursement materials and processes that are integrated into the overall business strategy.
Reviews and understands U.S. reimbursement and payment systems, including Medicare payment systems, payer coverage policies, claims data sets, and sources of U.S. health data.
Stays actively informed on U.S. national and regional reimbursement trends and payment policy changes to identify opportunities for customer support tools.
Create and manage interactive dashboards, reports, and similar content.
May create training and deliver education programs to sales force, physicians, medical directors, billing personnel, distributors, and other external stakeholders as needed.
Expected travel: approximately 5%. Position can be based remotely with occasional travel for team meetings and meeting with colleagues.
Must Have – Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years payer/provider healthcare economics and reimbursement experience,
Or an advanced degree with a minimum of 0 year payer/provider healthcare economics and reimbursement experience
Nice To Have:
Advanced degree in health policy, health services research, economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public administration, health sector management, or a related discipline
2+ years device or pharmaceutical industry experience with experience in payer/provider healthcare economics and reimbursement
Knowledgeable in U.S. hospital-based medical device reimbursement, including U.S. healthcare coding (HCPCS/CPT, ICD-10) and Medicare and U.S. commercial payers
Effective verbal & written communication skills and presentation skills
Experienced and adept with Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
Familiar with health economic methods, including cost-effectiveness analyses and budget impact models
Able to work independently and as part of a team to learn quickly, identify opportunities, and solve problems
Experience with influence management and ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a global organization
Ability to strategically apply technical knowledge to a variety of business situations and to translate across various functional groups
Strong project management skills, results orientation, quality orientation, proactive, with attention to detail, in a variety of situations of varying ambiguity
Familiar with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), CRMs (e.g., Salesforce)
