We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Clinical Research Manager to join our Neurovascular Medical Science and Clinical Affairs group.

This position can be based out of Irvine, California or Fridley, Minnesota.

As Senior Clinical Research Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all clinical activities related to a portfolio of clinical studies. You will lead managing daily in-house activities, directing a team of Clinical Research Specialists, and ensuring that clinical studies are scientifically valid and compliant with regulatory requirements. You will report to the Clinical Research Director and will play a crucial role in executing both local and global studies, while also maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership for the conduct of both pre-market and post-market clinical studies.
  • Ensure studies meet all relevant regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines.
  • Represent Medtronic from a clinical research perspective within the country/region.
  • Build and maintain a strong network with various internal and external parties.
  • Lead clinical teams and execution for both local and global studies, managing clinical research projects across the Neurovascular portfolio.
  • Manage Cost-centers and clinical portfolio budgets and resource plans
  • Conduct clinical programs consistent with applicable regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Research, prepare, and revise the Investigational Plan and other relevant clinical documents.
  • Supervise training of investigators, site staff, and Medtronic clinical staff.
  • Oversee accuracy of clinical studies/projects and manages budgets.
  • Performs personnel-related supervisory duties, including performance assessments and employee training.
  • Provides management-level representation during audits.
  • Interface with key functional groups to drive clinical-wide initiatives.

Must Have - Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required 
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience 

 
Nice to Have 

  • Advanced degree (Masters, PhD or MD) preferred.
  • Clinical Research experience at Medtronic or within a medical device industry
  • Experience in medical device clinical product trials and regulations.
  • Expertise with Good Clinical Practice (GCPs) and regulatory and compliance guidelines for clinical trials.
  • Experience in managing clinical trials from start to finish.
  • Experience managing direct reports and leading clinical teams, including budgets and resource management.
  • Diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, and oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact. 
  • Experience effectively writing and verbally communicating to all levels internally and externally within a regulated environment.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$156,800.00 - $235,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
