A Day in the Life

Welcome to Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, services, and solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced electrophysiology enthusiast to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone to join CAS, a high-growth Medtronic business, and lead the 3D Mapping Product lines. The Sr. Manager, Global Strategic Marketing position is critical to the success of the organization. The key responsibilities are both the Global Product and Brand Management functions for assigned products and the development of new products within the area of focus. Successful people in this role take a strong interest in their assigned products and work autonomously, becoming true subject matter experts and leaders in Medtronic.

Role Overview 

  • Performs global product, strategic initiative and/or business model assessment management activities and brings these products/innovations to market globally 

  • Explores new opportunities and prepares recommendations for global branding, positioning, and pricing strategies that deliver value. 

  • Leads the creation of both launch strategy and global launch execution of new products, strategic initiatives and/or business model innovations, following the Integrated Activation Process. 

  • Collaborates effectively with commercial marketing teams worldwide to ensure consistent messaging and promotion of assigned product lines, strategic initiatives and/or business model innovations and monitors achievement of sales objectives. 

  • Is viewed as the product expert to ensure knowledge is effectively transferred from R&T to commercial organizations. 

  • Works in coordination with global supply chain and commercial groups to lead business planning and forecasting of assigned product lines.  

  • Builds and manages pipeline for mapping /navigation and software products and/or assigned product line. Collaborates in the annual product pipeline portfolio review. 

  • Manages lifecycle of assigned product lines.  

  • Develops close KOLs relationships globally to drive global launch and evidence generation strategies for assigned product lines. 

  • Core team member for assigned new product development projects, strategic initiatives and/or business model innovation projects. Responsible for development of product requirements, global marketing plan, and global launch execution. 

  • Actively seeks new business opportunities, builds the business case and brings them to the attention of next management level. 

  • Performs competitive analyses in the areas of market potentials, sales coverage, market size, penetration, marketing practices and trends. 

  • Responsible for management of an assigned budget. 

 

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:  

  • A minimum of a bachelors degree is required; an MBA or related masters degree is preferred. 

  •  A minimum of 7 years of overall business experience is required. 

  •  A minimum of 3 years of marketing, R&D, sales, clinical or medical affairs experience is required. 

  •  Previous experience in the electrophysiology industry is essential  

  • Experience in software product management is desired.  

  •  Previous experience developing business cases and building financial models is preferred. 

  • Prior experience in working with 3D Mapping Systems and field clinical experience is preferred 

  • Develop value proposition (positioning, price and promotion) for new product/solution introductions, as well as formulate clinical claims development for new products, working with medical science and clinical specialists. 

  • Deliver product training at global launch training programs and ensure product knowledge is effectively transferred to commercial regional groups and field organizations. 

  • Ensure business continuity through demand planning and forecasting activities, and ownership of communication business progress or opportunities with senior management. 

  • The ability to learn complex technology/clinical applications is required. 

  •  Strong presentation and customer relations skills are required. 

  • The ability to build rapport and connections with global commercial organizations is essential. 

  •  Communication, relationship-building, and project management skills are critical. 

  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with a sense of urgency is required. 

  •  Must be willing to work in both clinical and animal facilities and capable of wearing protective lead clothing. 

 

Nice to have Knowledge and Experience:  

  • Previous upstream experience bringing a product from idea to launch 

  • Sales experience in medical devices 

  • Launching products in globally and understanding the regional differences in opportunities and challenges

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$151,200.00 - $226,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
