A DAY IN THE LIFE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader with a proven track record of strategizing, delivering and supporting applications and IT solutions supporting HR & Sales Compensation, Legal and Compliance functions.

The role will report to the VP of Global Functions & SAP COE (GFSAP) and be a key member of the leadership team to drive implementation of AI solutions and digital transformation in HR, Legal, and Compliance functions. 

The role will be responsible for developing executive/VP level relationships in HR, Legal and Compliance and work collaboratively across IT to accomplish goals.

This role will be responsible for driving complex, enterprise transformation programs such as sales compensation and territory management, contract lifecycle management, and AI solutions.

The role will strategize, plan and deliver large-scale IT programs, implement complex software solutions using hybrid cloud and SaaS solutions.

The role will be responsible for helping to identify, implement, and drive AI solutions that drive cost savings and drastically improve efficiency within functions.

The role will effectively engage and manage system implementation partners to successfully deliver using fixed price contracts and managed services arrangements.

The role will be responsible for building and leading a diverse IT team including on and offshore employees and managed services partners.

Key Responsibilities:

•               Work with business partners to develop 3 to 5 year IT roadmaps that will drive the transformation of the IT application landscape to fulfill required business capabilities.

•                  Develop and implement IT solutions that support HR, Sales Compensation, Legal, and Compliance functions that ensure alignment with organizational goals and foster innovation.

•                  Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to drive the conceptualization, architecture, design, and delivery of solutions.

•                  Lead large scale global transformation programs, managing system implementation vendors in fixed price engagements to deliver solutions on-time, on-budget, with quality.

•                  AI Solutions: Develop and implement AI solutions for HR, Legal, and Compliance functions, demonstrating thought leadership.

•                  Legal Solutions: Implement solutions for the HCP Physician Sunshine Act, Contract Lifecycle Management, and Legal Matter Management using Onit.

•                  Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures: Plan and implement IT strategies and solutions supporting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

•                  Business Relationship Management: Engage with VP-level stakeholders and sponsors to drive business objectives and IT initiatives.

•                  Cross-Functional Leadership: Provide leadership in a matrix organization, managing cross-divisional initiatives and cross-functional teams.

•                  Systems Delivery and Operations: Oversee the delivery and operational support of IT systems, ensuring robustness and efficiency.

•                  Vendor management and contract negotiation: Skilled in vendor management and contract negotiation for software and professional services.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 15+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 13+ years of experience with an advanced degree.

  • 10+ years of managerial experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Strongly Preferred:

    • Experienced with delivering large scale, enterprise global system implementations in HR, Legal, and Compliance on time and on budget with quality and customer satisfaction.

    • Business process and data with HR & Sales Compensation, Legal, and Compliance solutions.

    • Experience implementing Workday, Onit, and/or HCP Physician Sunshine Act solutions.

    • Experience planning and implementing Sales Performance and Territory Management solutions using Varicent or Callidus is a plus.

    • Experience building high performance on and off shore teams.

    • Experience planning fixed price engagements with system implementation vendors to successfully deliver outcomes.

    • Experience planning, implementing, and/or integrating to SAP ECC and/or SAP S4 is a plus.

    • Demonstrated financial management of departmental budget and multi-million dollar capital investment projects.

    • Experience estimating, planning and implementing mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

    • Technical expertise : Well-versed in technology and information systems, including infrastructure, enterprise resource platforms, cybersecurity and risk management and IT architecture. Strong partnership with leading software providers and their product roadmaps.

    • Track record of leading the analysis of complex and ambiguous business needs and integrating those into compelling and actionable strategic plans and investment business cases with global reach and impact.

    • Track record of delivering high-value digital capability projects within timelines and budget.

    • Demonstrated commitment to creative thinking and applying innovative technologies to use cases, in achieving a balance between pragmatic value and transformation.

    • Must be a self-starter and results driven.

    • Must be able lead through ambiguity and act with urgency.

    • Excellent leadership, presence, and executive communication skills (written and verbal).

Anticipated travel 10-15% to Medtronic sites.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$198,400.00 - $297,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
