A Day in the LifeIn this exciting and challenging role as a senior test engineering supervisor - DVA Lab Owner, you will have technical responsibility in leading, planning, prioritizing, conducting and providing test outcome updates of Delivery Volume Accuracy (DVA) testing and help coordinate product verification for insulin delivery devices at Medtronic Diabetes. Perform technical activities more complex in nature with larger impact, run projects, including performing complex tests, interpreting data, developing key reports and providing updates to the broader team. Train, delegate and review the work of engineers and technicians and responsible for leading daily operations of the DVA test laboratories.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Be the point of contact for the Delivery Volume Accuracy (DVA) Test lab activities within the Insulin Pump DVA Test Team and partner with the business and functional management to plan and prioritize projects as needed.
Provide updates to cross functional management as applicable on lab status as it pertains to equipment utilization time, test activities, test observations, and any other needs as applicable.
Work with technician supervisors and engineering leads and allocate of test technician resources.
Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or product.
Management of lab and equipment resources and operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
Development of technician resources and trains new scientific staff in the general use and function of designated instrumentation and creates and refines user protocols for general use.
Delivers and/or manages verification projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.
Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development
Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
Directs and coordinates the laboratory support staff and maintains an adequate inventory of the test laboratory equipment, materials etc.
Selects, develops and evaluates test personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function and the lab.
Coordinates daily consumable supply stocking and ordering.
Ensures effective operation of all laboratory equipment and serves as point of contact for instrument repairs.
May organize and take part in vendor negotiations, product and software evaluations, tutorials, and facility modifications.
Provides technical input to purchasing and other functional areas.
Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure prompt delivery.
Responsible for development of tracking procedures, establishment and maintenance of service contracts and warranties with vendors.

Interfaces with Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) and acts as a liaison between departments and the scientific staff to complete lab modifications and ensure safety compliance.
Must Have: Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree with 3+ years experience in technical testing or lab experience
OR
Advanced Degree with 1+ years experience in technical testing or lab experience
Nice to Have:
5+ years experience in medical device industry
Previous experience with insulin pump technology
Leadership experience with technical teams
Cross functional collaboration
