En tant que membre de léquipe de création de version de Dashboard, vous fournirez une orientation stratégique et un soutien logistique à lorganisation du développement en nuage de Meraki, en vous concentrant sur la fonctionnalité, la simplicité, lévolutivité et la disponibilité de nos systèmes de développement. Vous êtes animé dun fort désir daméliorer la satisfaction des développeurs, en prêtant toujours une oreille attentive à leur expérience quotidienne des outils et des flux de travail et en trouvant des moyens de les améliorer. Vous apporterez des changements progressifs pour permettre à un développeur de sortir rapidement de limpasse, et vous proposerez et mettrez en œuvre des changements à plus long terme qui réduiront la charge technique et anticiperont les besoins futurs.

En tant qu’ingénieur logiciel principal, des systèmes de création de version des produits de base, vous devrez :

  • Développer, maintenir et exploiter des systèmes de création de version et dautres outils afin de garantir un produit de qualité et une expérience simple pour les développeurs.
  • Établir des processus et des outils pour maintenir l’intégrité de la base de code et assurer la cohérence des résultats, y compris les règles de validation d’enregistrement, les processus de site distant/succursale et de fusion, les tests automatisés et l’utilisation d’outils d’analyse statique et dynamique.
  • Étudier et recommander lévolution de la structure de la base de code et des processus de création de version afin de raccourcir la boucle de commentaires du développeur.
  • Collaborer avec l’équipe d’ingénierie de fiabilité du site pour assurer l’ évolutivité et la disponibilité des systèmes de création de version, ainsi que l’intégration de ses processus avec l’ensemble des outils agile utilisés pour suivre les témoignages des utilisateurs et les défauts des produits.
  • Résoudre les problèmes liés au système de création de version et coordonner les efforts de triage et de correction entre les équipes produits.
  • Influencer et stimuler l’excellence opérationnelle et les processus standardisés au sein de l’organisation.

Vous êtes un candidat idéal si vous correspondez à ce qui suit :

  • Au moins cinq ans d’expérience pertinente dans les domaines du développement, de la création et de l’ingénierie des versions
  • Expérience du développement de systèmes et doutils de conception modulaires permettant la mise en place dune infrastructure continue évolutive offrant une expérience simplifiée aux développeurs.
  • Solide compréhension de l’intégration entre les tests logiciels automatisés et le processus de création de version
  • Expérience de Ruby on Rails et des pipelines RSpec
  • Expérience des chaînes d’outils et des pipelines TypeScript et React.
  • Expérience de Linux et des logiciels open source
  • Solides connaissances en matière de scripts utilisant Shell, Groovy, Ruby ou Python
  • Expérience des systèmes de contrôle de version distribués tels que Git, Gitlab, Gerrit et/ou GitHub
  • Expérience des outils d’intégration continue tels que Jenkins, Gitlab ou GitHub

Des atouts supplémentaires si :

  • Expérience de l’utilisation de conteneurs dans un environnement de création de version
  • Expérience des outils de collecte, d’analyse et de visualisation de données tels que Elastic Stack et Grafana
  • Expérience utilisateur et capacité à générer et à communiquer des indicateurs de développement significatifs
  • Expérience ou volonté de travailler dans un environnement agile (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

As a member of the Dashboard Build team, you will provide strategic direction and logistical support for Meraki’s cloud development organization, focusing on functionality, simplicity, scalability, and availability of our build systems. Youre driven by a strong desire to improve developer happiness, always keeping an empathetic ear out for developers’ day-to-day experience with tools and workflows and finding ways to improve these. Youll make incremental changes to quickly get a developer unstuck as well as propose and implement longer term changes that reduce technical debt and anticipate future needs.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Core Product Build Systems you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and operate build systems and other tooling to help ensure a quality product and straightforward developer experience
  • Establish processes and tools to maintain code base integrity and ensure consistency of outcomes, including check-in validation rules, branch/merge processes, automated testing, and the use of static and dynamic analysis tools
  • Investigate and recommend evolution to the structure of the code base and build processes to shorten the developer feedback loop
  • Collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering team to ensure scalability and availability of build systems, and the integration of its processes with the agile tool set used to track user stories and product defects
  • Respond to build system issues and coordinate the triage and remediation efforts across the product teams
  • Influence and drive operational excellence and standard processes within the organization

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the areas of development, build, and release engineering
  • Experience with development of modular build systems and tools for a scalable continuous infrastructure that provides a streamlined developer experience.
  • Solid understanding of the integration between automated software testing and the build process
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and RSpec pipelines
  • Experience with TypeScript and React toolchains and pipelines.
  • Experience with Linux and open source software
  • Strong scripting knowledge using Shell, Groovy, Ruby, and/or Python
  • Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git, Gitlab, Gerrit, and/or GitHub
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab, and/or GitHub

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with the use of containers in a build environment
  • Experience with data collection, parsing, and visualization tools such as the Elastic Stack and Grafana
  • User Experience and the ability to generate and communicate meaningful development metrics
  • Experience or willingness to work in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Compensation Range:
$115,900$160,400 CAD

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidates hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter.  Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
