Health is seeking an editor to join our team of health and editorial enthusiasts. If you are a highly organized, editorially driven, digitally savvy content expert who is dedicated to health information, this could be the job for you.
This role will be focused on editing condition-focused evergreen articles, recruiting and managing freelance writers, and working on content programs with the full editorial team. You’ll work directly with our Senior Editors and Editorial Director, Growth/SEO, and the Content Quality teams to develop, edit, and update health articles, ensuring that our content is accurate, up to date, and comprehensive. You will be part of a fast-growing and collaborative team.

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions:
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
40% - Help ideate, assign, edit, and publish search-optimized and writer-pitched condition evergreen content
20% - Recruit, onboard, and manage a diverse pool of freelance health and medical writers who can cover health topics from a lens that impacts different communities
10% - Understand the brand’s style and edit to align with brand voice
10% - Ensure alignment with our article templates and content briefs and create article templates for new topic areas
10% - Partner with the editorial team and SEO team on content initiatives, including assessing keywords and special projects
10% - Work with the editorial team to help shape and define editorial strategy, increase audience, and drive user engagement
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree, preferably in journalism or communications, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience developing online editorial content and working with content management systems, including 2 years of experience editing freelance writers
Must have experience with health content (specifically related to disease, conditions, and treatment) and understand specific nuances surrounding sourcing and credibility
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid editing skills, as well as a deep understanding of what works on the web
Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs, all the while keeping the brand voice in mind
Familiarity with SEO best practices
Skilled at translating confusing health language into consumer-friendly, engaging copy

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $62,500.00 - $75,000.00 Remote: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
