Morgan Stanley is searching for an Assistant Vice President, Morgan Stanley Data Strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for enhancing E*TRADE and Morgan Stanley’s data and analytics to enable firm-wide decision and insights and owning the integration of data across digital direct and financial advisors. The ideal candidate would have deep expertise in data strategy & management, analytics & machine learning tools, and building data platforms, with a strong focus on delivering solutions at speed and scale to solve business problems. The ideal candidate must also possess analytical skills, and adept at collaborating with stakeholders across the enterprise (marketing, digital, product, sales & service, finance, and technology) to drive business outcomes.
 
Responsibilities:
•    Develop and execute data strategy, transformations, and the roadmap to deliver use-cases across marketing, targeting, lead management, digital, and product strategy•    Own the roadmap and implementation for data migration from on-prem systems to Azure cloud•    Drive the integration of data assets to create a unified customer experience between digital, financial consultant and financial advisor channels
•    Be the product owner of data assets including the enterprise data warehouse and data lake
•    Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the data needs, provide clear business requirements, and partner with technology teams to deploy the solutions using agile methodology
•    Define data architecture for cross platforms integration and create one view data warehouse to enable central decisioning and analytics
•    Define, implement, and manage the business logic for centralized curated and derived data assets along with ODL creation techniques and matching of the data sets
•    Own and manage data quality rules, and partner with the data governance teams to ensure that our data remains of the highest quality

Requirements: 
•    Master’s Degree in Science/Engineering/Mathematics preferred 
•    At least 5+ years of financial services experience in data, analytics, or a related function
•    At least 5 years’ experience of data strategy and data product management
•    At least 5 years’ experience of Hadoop, RDBMS, and cloud environments
•    Hands-on product ownership experience of building data solutions at speed and scale on Hadoop and public cloud
•    Knowledge of key data-related technology solutions, services & components, and architecture principles
•    At least 5 years of experience of using SQL, SAS, and Python for data analytics
•    At least 5 years of experience working with RDBMS and distributed computing platforms
•    Experience working with agile methodology
•    Strategic thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work in a collaborative and transparent style with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to deliver results
•    Strong oral and written communication skills including experience in effectively communicating with executives, employees, colleagues, and clients
•    Familiarity with visualization techniques and software such as Tableau, Looker, etc.
•    Experience working with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms 
•    Experience working with machine learning tools and techniques 
•    Knowledge of financial securities, derivatives, and trading strategies is a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
