As Director of Data Science, you will own all AI Insights work at Movable Ink. This includes our internal reporting stack and guiding what improvements we can make to our model suite, working with our client-facing teams and our clients directly to realize the best outcomes for our clients, and the roadmap for our Insights capability. This is an opportunity to build out Movable Ink’s Analytics center of excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a data team
- Own the product analytics roadmap that informs and determines priorities for future modeling initiatives
- Build out and maintain our internal reporting stack and insights generation capability for ongoing reporting, including managing escalations through a ticket queue
- Provide mentorship and training to our customer-facing teams on engaging with clients on personalization-related measurement and analytics problems
- Present directly to senior leaders and executives we work with in client organizations
- Own the roadmap for our Analytics product “Insights IQ”, which provides business reporting as well as advanced, proprietary model-grounded insights into personalization performance
Qualifications:
- Advanced quantitative degree at the intersection of business/economics/mathematics or equivalent experience
- Experience owning product analytics and reporting for a complex consumer-facing product; ideally you have previously worked with machine-learning systems
- Solid foundations in statistics and online controlled experiments (a/b testing) - previous Marketing experience is a plus but not required
- You enjoy going deep and hands on and have a high comfort level reasoning through data backends and writing SQL, setting up and using reporting tools such as Looker/Tableau as well as higher-level business equivalents such as Excel/Google Sheets
- 5+ years of management experience, building and coaching a team
- Comfort driving a cross-team roadmap including multiple (technical) teams
- Ability to drive multiple initiatives and prioritize between short-term and long-term solutions
- A desire to always be learning and contributing to a collaborative environment
The base pay range for this position is $250,000-$275,000/year. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options and other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position ultimately offered.
