The AVP, Finance will serve as a key member of the corporate finance team. This leadership role will report directly to the FP&A SVP and will support the executive leadership team in driving, assessing and prioritizing the long-term strategic direction and growth for the company across its portfolio of businesses.  The AVP will be primarily charged with managing corporate expenses by coordinating in close partnership with corporate business partners, business FP&A teams and accounting.

Role / Responsibilities

  • Annual budgeting and monthly forecasting of Mr. Cooper corporate functions

  • Responsible for a centralized finance department that provides support to corporate business partners, accounting, and segment FP&A teams

  • Responsible for all financial planning (short-term and long-term) and analysis operations including financial controls (budgets), costs and general accounting.

  • Plays a critical leadership role in providing key financial insight that helps companys strategic decision, financial forecasts and operating plans.

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of the annual operating plans and earnings projections for corporate functions

  • Gather research and analyze data to drive diagnostic rigor in developing actionable solutions and making decisions

  • Partner with team leadership on multiple concurrent projects for top leaders of the company

  • Prepare analysis, commentary and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly business and financial review meetings

  • Support quarterly external reporting, including MD&A and support information

Education / Experience Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field is required. MBA or CFA a plus.

  • 6+ years of experience in FP&A roles.

  • Financial Services or Banking industry experience preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight or junior support.

  • Strong personal initiative and good judgment; desire to succeed in a demanding environment.

  • Comfortable working under demanding deadlines and producing key senior-executive deliverables.

  • Proficiency in strategic and financial planning

  • Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint expert.

Travel Information:

  • This is a remote role. Though, you will be expected to travel into our corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas at a minimum of once a month based on the needs of the business.
