Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for a Planning & Analytics Engineering Manager. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and configure the SAP Analytics Cloud tools and SAP BPC within the Corporate Technology Engineering group. You’ll help deliver a dynamic SAP Planning and Analytical capability that caters to the unique needs of multiple business sectors. 

NBCU has deployed SAP to run financial, logistics, and HR processes with SAP BPC used to run planning processes at the enterprise and division level. We have globally developed SAP BPC solutions to perform planning & accounting functions of high complexity.

The Planning & Analytics Engineering Manager will provide feasible planning/accounting solutions by creating necessary blueprint documents for functional requirements, technical specifications, designing & implementing planning solutions, and reviewing the work performed by other engineering team members as per established standards & requirements. The Planning & Analytics Engineering Manager will also review current standards and revise them to ensure best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of SAP BPC 2021 Classic version, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Lead the design and architecture of SAP BPC 2021 Classic version solutions for planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial consolidation.
  • Deliver effective planning solutions in SAC Planning.
  • Design and architect new SAC Planning solutions in SAC and migrate existing BPC solutions into SAC Planning.
  • Oversee and coordinate SAP Products (BPC, BW, SAC) maintenance, upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement security, access control, and governance best practices for planning applications.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practices guidance to the SAP BPC team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex BPC issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Review design recommendations to ensure quality and consistency across the footprint.
  • Perform fit-gap analysis via discovery by engaging with business units and other corporate systems team members.
  • Review and/or participate in solution build and test activities on BPC & SAC implementations, rollouts, or upgrade projects; may be asked to step in to conduct project management activities from time to time.
  • Configure processes in SAP BPC using EPM skills, BADI, script logics, and computations.
  • Advise on solution roadmap for BPC  projects, considering current BW4HANA footprint for BPC & SAC solutions.
  • Conduct comparative research and recommend strategies for future roadmaps for BPC & SAC solutions.
  • Collaborate with peers in Corp Tech to apply best practices to integrate between SAP applications (S4, BW4, BO and BPC).
  • Become the trusted internal advisor for key business users.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers, directly reporting to you.
  • 7+ years of progressive SAP BPC and/or BPC Netweaver hands-on experience leading up to Architect level work in an IT capacity to implement accounting and planning solutions of high complexity and large scale.
  • Hands-on experience with EPM Add-in, Analysis for Office (AO), and BPC reporting tools.
  • Work on data modeling, blending, and transformation to ensure efficient and optimized reporting.
  • Integrate SAC with SAP BW, SAP HANA, S/4, and other data sources for seamless analytics.
  • Strong expertise in SAC planning design, Analytical Applications, and Data Modeling.
  • Migration experience from BPC Solutions to SAC platform.
  • Self-starter to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Project management familiarity/experience
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business from an accredited institution or equivalent

Desired Characteristics:

  • SAP SAC Certification is a plus.
  • SAP BPC Certification is a plus.
