Job Description
The Sr Cloud Automation Engineer is responsible for helping design solutions in our post-production automation platform. The ideal candidate with gather requirements from both production and engineering clients and translate into development projects. The candidate will also have a deep understanding of the existing software and hardware infrastructure to determine best approaches to the clients’ needs.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design and implement new solutions for moving automation to the public cloud.
- Manage large data models to facilitate reporting of any event captured by the automation platform.
- Enable integration of cognitive services to our automation pipeline and management of the data derived from those services.
- Set up and manage proof of concepts (POCs) in partnership with our cloud infrastructure team and vendors. Provide findings along with cost analysis of the solutions.
- Collaborate with Engineering Workflow team as needed to find cloud-based automated solutions to meet client workflow requests.
- Assist with the Development QA process during the monthly testing phase.
- Create and maintain documentation and train other team members on new implementations.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years of overall experience in DevOps and/or data architecture
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with Azure Functions and AWS Lambda
- Experience in containerization infrastructure and concepts, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience in cloud-based data lakes and data warehouses and related tools, such as Azure Synapse and AWS Redshift.
- Experience with Azure cognitive services and AWS equivalent
- Experience with vector and graph database and large language models
- Experience in Development QC Processes
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools, including PowerShell.
Desired Characteristics:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Experience with post-production automation tools, such as Telestream Vantage.
- Experience with object storage, such as S3 and Azure Blob
- Experience using APIs (in particular REST) to integrate with third parties.
- Ability to work remotely effectively with others across geographical locations.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and schedules.
- Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU.
