As an Applications Developer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of performant, highly scalable software solutions. This is a hands-on role that requires the candidate to work collaboratively in a team following a Scaled Agile Development Methodology. You must be a self-starter, delivery-focused, and possess a broad set of technology skills.

THE ROLE & YOUR MISSION

  • Ensure that solution requirements are gathered accurately, and understood and that all stakeholders have transparency on impacts
  • Perform coding to written Agile stories with unit tests adhering to coding standards and guidelines
  • Follow engineering best practices and concepts within your organisation
  • Follow good Agile practices that are foundational to product delivery
  • Be an involved member of the MMC Technology community – contribute, collaborate, and learn
  • Work with state-of-the-art technologies to solve genuine, real-world problems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software engineering issues

YOUR EXPERIENCE & VALUES

  • The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional environment
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering software solutions
  • Good understanding of cloud-native software architectures
  • Proven experience in Secure Development Practices
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • High Attention to Detail

Technical Skills or Qualifications Required

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages and frameworks with in-depth skills in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Typescript, C#

  • Strong experience in one or more of the following frameworks Angular, NodeJS, Express.JS, .NET, Less(Sass)

  • Ability to write Unit and Integration Tests

  • Strong experience working with an ORM Framework including the use of TSQL and NOSQL databases

  • Some experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of SDLC and experience with one or all of Confluence, JIRA, ADO, Github etc.

  • Experience working with the MEAN or MERN stack

  • The ability to apply Patterns and Practices to real-world use cases

  • A commitment to quality and personal accountability for code
