We are seeking a talented individual to join our Actuarial Wealth business team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
You will be supporting the Dutch team (based in Amstelveen or Rotterdam) and provide all possible support from start to finish in the process to ultimately deliver advice to the client in the most efficient and effective manner and at the highest possible quality.
In addition to your focus area, you will have the opportunity to develop more broadly and will be involved in various projects across different departments within Mercer. You will have the opportunity to work with clients that come from the top of the market, including corporate pension funds, industry pension funds, large corporations, multinationals, and SMEs. Their success partly depends on your communication skills and your courage to propose innovative ideas.
We will count on you to:
- Together with your client team, assist in developing a complex issue from our client into a successful action plan.
- Carefully process and analyze financial data, documentation, and problem statements, contributing to providing the right strategy or solution for the client.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and advisory memos, and assist colleagues with pension and employee benefits-related research.
- Keep up with relevant developments and current events in your work area and apply them in your work.
- Plan your own tasks and proactively contribute to team objectives.
- Support communication with clients and their employees regarding their employee benefits in general and pensions in particular.
What you need to have:
- Degree in Econometrics, Actuarial science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering; or tax law with pension knowledge.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills in order to prioritize and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written (C1/C2). Basic knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
