The Platform Networking organization plays a pivotal role in how Netflix’s Cloud Infrastructure operates to provide a safe and seamless streaming experience. The Cloud Gateway team at Netflix acts as the entry point for all traffic entering our cloud infrastructure. We play a vital role in business initiatives like Live, Ads, Gaming, M&A, and Security in collaboration with partner teams. Our solutions manage traffic at scale across the Netflix ecosystem, simplifying resiliency, security, routing, and observability.

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader who will lead and grow a diverse team of talented engineers driving the evolution of our edge services at Netflix. You will partner with engineering teams across all of Netflix, including device teams, service owners and platform partners, to deliver business results and evolve our Platform.

What you will do:

Drive the vision and strategy on how to evolve our Network Platform solutions
Build, scale, and mentor a cohesive team of amazing engineers
Form strong cross-functional partnerships to achieve alignment with stakeholders and ensure our solutions meet their needs, while maintaining our focus on reliability, resiliency, security
Balance competing priorities across multiple cross-functional stakeholders and programs

What we are looking for:

Experience building and operating high scale tier-0 distributed infrastructure
Deep understanding of Layer 4 - Layer 7 networking solutions
Technical acumen with ability to go deep (as needed) to provide inputs and judgment in making data driven decisions.
Proven track record of timely execution with upholding engineering excellence while building trust with partners/customers and balancing competing priorities
Customer obsession, product mindset to understand business and customers needs and deliver results creating a tight feedback loop.
Proven experience building and leading software engineering teams with a focus on inclusion and diversity.
Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short term execution and longer-term vision
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $190,000 - $920,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
