We are seeking a senior AI Engineer with demonstrative experience building and shipping AI agents in production applications to join our team. At NewtonX, we’re developing an innovative AI-powered quantitative analysis platform that transforms raw survey data into actionable business insights, dramatically accelerating our clients decision-making processes.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable and production-grade agents using LangGraph, tool calling, prompt engineering, and other various techniques for producing high-quality output from our agentic systems using the Python programming language. 

  • Contribute to test coverage of all agentic processes and outputs including unit, integration, e2e tests, and LangSmith datasets and experiments. 

  • Research, experiment with, and maintain deep understanding of latest technologies in the generative AI space including new models, capabilities, and techniques for developing AI-powered applications in order to take advantage of new developments in this ever-changing field. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, data analysts, product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to define, design, and deliver innovative AI-driven solutions that meet our customer’s needs.

  • Mentor and support more junior engineers as it relates to AI initiatives.

Required

  • 5 years minimum experience as a software engineer with at least 1 of experience developing LLM-powered systems using the LangChain framework including LangGraph, and tool calling.

  • Demonstrative experience using LangSmith to evaluate and improve agent performance.

  • Deep technical understanding of the Python programming language and experience deploying production applications using it. 

  • Experience developing applications leveraging streaming.

  • Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams.

  • Develops all code with unit and integration tests using frameworks like Pytest, UnitTest, etc.

  • Strong understanding and experience with using git for version control. 

  • Bachelors degree or greater.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working with and deploying applications on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Hands-on experience developing web applications, including REST APIs and modern web frameworks such as Django, FastApi, etc.

  • Experience working with various data stores such as relational databases (Postgres), graph databases (Neo4j), and vector stores. 

  • Experience working on customer-facing applications
