What you’ll do:

In this role, you will play a critical role in designing and building the server-side systems that power our community features and Add-On framework. Reporting to the VP of Developer Experience, you will be responsible for creating secure, scalable, and resilient systems that can handle real-time data and a high volume of user interactions.

In this role, you will:

Architect, implement, and optimize backend services and APIs that drive NinjaTrader’s core functionality and next-generation server-side ecosystem utilizing Rust and Kubernetes
Collaborate with front-end teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure smooth integration with user-facing features
Build and maintain microservices or modular server-side components to support high availability and scalability
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure performance and reliability of production systems
Drive continuous improvement by introducing best practices for code quality, deployment pipelines, and system observability
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to growing a culture of engineering excellence
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to performance, concurrency, and data consistency

What youll need:

7+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development, with a focus on server-side architectures
Deep proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages commonly used in backend development (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, C#, Java, Go, Rust)
Experience working with modern cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and serverless architectures
Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL), caching strategies, and data pipelines
Demonstrated experience building and optimizing microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs
Understanding of event-driven or real-time systems, with proficiency in message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) or WebSockets
Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant backend solutions
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills; able to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Compensation:

The salary range for this role will be $165,000.00 - $190,000.00 USD annually. In addition, this position will also receive an annual target bonus of up to 12%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%).

Salary and bonus earnings are only two components of the total compensation package offered by NinjaTrader. Additional details on our total compensation package and benefits are listed below.
