WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

As Nitrogens Staff Attorney, you will facilitate the company’s legal, governance, risk management, and compliance function to support business objectives, drive growth, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and protect the company’s enterprise value.

  • Draft, review, and help negotiate sales, vendor, real estate, and employment agreements and contracts on behalf of the company to ensure company’s legal interests are safeguarded while enabling strategic growth.
  • Coordinate outside counsel relationships and expenditure.
  • Prepare and communicate information regarding contract status, risk, compliance, modifications, deviations, negotiations, and completion or termination.
  • Manage our contracts database to inventory and catalog all contracts in such a way that summarizes significant contract terms and enables leverage of legal and commercial terms.
  • Manage intellectual property portfolios, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents, ensuring protection of proprietary technologies and content. Assist in the identification of potential patents or other IP protection strategies that we should have outside counsel pursue and execute.
  • Coordinate the development of internal policies and procedures to ensure corporate compliance with existing legislation and regulations and prepare the company for upcoming changes and emerging issues.
  • Be a consultative partner and resource to educate and assist customer-facing and engineering colleagues on legal, compliance, regulation, and security topics.
  • Chair the company’s internal GRC Committee.
  • Represent the company on legal and compliance related customer calls when necessary.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active state bar membership.
  • Can-do attitude that views legal and compliance to the end of driving growth and protecting the companys enterprise value; excited by finding creative solutions to challenging legal and compliance questions in a fast and efficient way.

  • Ability to navigate complex legal frameworks and provide clear, actionable advice.
  • Very discreet and capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Follows through on commitments, clearly communicates with teammates, establishes trust with business partners.

The expected compensation range for this role is a $120k-$175k Salary plus Bonus Compensation.

Lesser experience may result in lower compensation and greater experience may result in greater compensation than the stated range.
