Enterprise Incident Management - Incident Commander
SUMMARY
This is a strategic senior role, leading the North America (NA) Enterprise Incident Management team. Reporting to the Global Head of Incident Management, the role is designed to safeguard the bank’s people, assets, operations, and reputation in the NA region and, also as part of the global Incident Management strategy.
Responsibilities include: Overseeing incident management programs, ensure compliance with Regulatory and organizational standards, and driving continuous improvement. The position will act as the key liaison for NA business stakeholders and coordinate with internal (and external) cross functional teams during an incident.
MAJOR DUTIES
Develop and execute Northern Trust’s (NT) global incident management strategy for the NA region and ensure alignment with NT’s global objectives.
Support in the development and implementation of Incident Management policies, tools, programs and frameworks.
Lead and manage a team of Incident Commanders to appropriately respond and recover from operational and/or technology related incidents.
Provide strategic recommendations to NT senior leadership for improvements in business continuity and resilience.
Deputize for the Global Head of Incident Management and represent Northern Trust where required in regional forums , resilience councils and cross-function meetings.
Act as the regional point of contact for the identification, assessment and management of incidents across the NA region, ensuring triage, escalation and coordination with the global team.
Lead Post Incident Reviews (where applicable) and ensuring any lessons learned are shared appropriately and any resulting remedial improvement actions are tracked to closure.
Oversee training programs for regional teams to ensure readiness and compliance.
Collaborate with business units to assess risks, and design effective response plans.
Ensure adherence to local, regional and international regulatory requirements.
Prepare and present detailed incident reports, risk assessments, and performance metrics to senior forums / executives.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Knowledge of crisis management, disaster, and business recovery and continuity management in a financial or corporate environment.
Understanding of risk management practices including cyber security and how they apply in Financial Services organizations including the impact of regulation on operational resiliency matters.
Experience Supporting the implementation of projects and working with cross-functional teams.
Working knowledge of technologies relevant to responsibilities.
Strong understanding of data analytics and related tools including Power BI
Strong collaboration, communication and presentation skills
Ability to drive to execution
Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performance
EXPERIENCE
12-14 years of related experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, Risk, or Controls.

Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
