Overview We are seeking a Senior EDI Data Engineer who will be responsible for the development and maintenance of both batch and real-time data ingestion platforms, ensuring the provision of reliable datasets that empower stakeholders to make informed and timely decisions supporting customer activities. The role also encompasses fostering a culture of excellence within a high-performing data engineering team, with the support of third-party development partners. They are responsible for ensuring that data received from external parties (such as our Clients and Vendor partners) are successfully ingested and available for processing in our transactional systems, while also ensuring that file extracts for external business partners are produced and delivered on the agreed upon schedule. Essential Functions Utilize expertise in ETL (T-SQL/SSIS, Python, R) processes to extract data from various sources, enhancing business intelligence. Design end-to-end integration processes with high scalability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues using various technologies/tools including but not limited to EDI Mappings, Certificates, SFTP, SQL Procedures/Performance Tuning, Scripting, .NET, etc. Performs regular system monitoring to verify the integrity, health and availability of all systems and key processes, reviewing application and system logs and ensuring completion of scheduled jobs Perform data mapping between the canonical models and data formats (both input and output) such as X12 EDI, FHIR, and other structured JSON, XML, or proprietary formats Consume and process data from a variety of sources (RDBMS, APIs, FTPs and other cloud storage systems) and file formats (Excel, CSV, XML, JSON, EDI x12) Familiarity with the most common EDI standards like X12 and EDIFACT, an understanding of a good range of EDI transaction messages and ability to work with common formats including XML and cXML Create and maintain documentation pertaining to data systems (configurations, test plans, functional specs, etc.) Participate in Data Governance Council meetings, representing the architecture and development teams Oversee the integration of various data sources and ensure seamless data flow across different systems within the organization Qualifications Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline Required: Minimum of 7 years experience in Enterprise Data Integration; public company experience with a SOX control environment is preferred. Proven experience as a Lead Engineer with a focus on cloud-based solutions experience with Web Services based APIs, Soap, REST, etc. Experience with API/Rest preferred, EDI. Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Informatica Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL programming, and database administration. Comfortable working with large raw data files (Csv, Txt , EDI) is necessary (editing, manipulating, searching. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience with Agile methodologies. Logical programming skills with a desire to achieve specified goals. Experience working with Health Care data, or Behavioral Health Data and processes. Preferred: Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power BI, etc.) Experience working with PowerShell, Python, SSIS, Informatica or other ETL tools. Experience using Git for version control and deployment. A solid grasp of SSAS-based data modeling principles.
