We are looking for a Sourcing Manager (EMS) to assist with both tactical and strategic sourcing deliverables. The position requires the ability to work with supply chain, engineering, finance, and legal teams as well as contract manufacturers and suppliers. The position also requires strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment on multiple projects with competing or changing priorities.
What you will do:
- Working as a key member of the sourcing team, with a focus on EMS Category Management for complex supply chain projects
- Development and implementation of Contract Manufacturing strategies and initiatives considering factors such as business requirements, quality, cost, lead times, and CM capabilities
- Monitoring market trends and advancements in capabilities within the supplier landscape and providing recommendations to leverage them for the benefit of ŌURA products
- Assess different contract manufacturing models (including OEM, ODM, JDM, etc.) and propose to the ŌURA team based on project goals and needs
- Identifying, evaluating, contracting, and onboarding new suppliers that can provide the most value required for ŌURA products and manufacturing needs
- Conducting regular supplier performance evaluations and audits to assess quality, delivery, and overall supplier capabilities and performance
- Negotiating all commercial agreements with suppliers, including unit pricing, NRE, CapEx, contracts, and E&O liability
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier information, pricing, contracts, and performance metrics in agreed company systems
- Cost modeling and benchmarking for parts and assemblies
- Collaboration with engineering teams to define and communicate technical specifications and requirements to suppliers
- Working closely with engineering and operations to ensure the availability of materials to meet development and production schedules; prepare purchase orders for prototyping and mass production as required
- Identification and mitigation of potential supply chain risks by implementing appropriate risk management strategies and contingency plans
- Participation in the continuous development of ŌURA sourcing working practices
This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in San Francisco or San Diego.
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- Must have 5+ years of work experience in consumer electronics and/or supply chain roles
- Must have 3+ years of experience working with high volume final assembly Contract Manufacturers in a Strategic Sourcing role within EMS or Business Operations in a NPI / fast-growing environment
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and contract management skills
- Ability to manage a complex program on tight timelines
- Experience working in an NPI environment
- Problem solving and issue resolution skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Ability to influence cross-functionally
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
