In this tax research and consulting role, you’ll serve as a creative thinker who isn’t afraid to think outside the box, suggesting new solutions, turning a question into a project and asking “What if…?” You’ll help clients from a variety of industries strategically grow their business as you guide them through entity selection and reorganization, buying and selling businesses, and modeling transactions. Specialize in partnerships and enjoy creative problem-solving Look beyond the technical details to recognize and help others see the big picture Dig into the root issue, often turning it into an opportunity for greater client service What you’ll be doing: Analyze and interpret partnership agreements to determine the allocation of taxable income to partners. Develop standardized technology to aid in the determination of partnership allocations, liability analysis and capital account maintenance. Utilize technical partnership tax knowledge to resolve potential tax issues and assist in the calculation of partnership items. Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to develop and implement tax strategies that optimize tax obligations. Stay abreast of current tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on partnership activities. Provide tax guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings involving partnerships. Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, and effectively manage any disputes or negotiations. Educate and provide training to internal stakeholders on partnership tax matters to enhance company-wide tax awareness and compliance. Review complex partnership tax returns to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. What you’ll need for this position: 5+ years of experience with tax research and consulting Experience with general to complex partnership issues, such as section 754 elections, 704(c), Reverse 704(c), disguised sales, mergers and divisions, special allocations, debt and basis, and related tax reporting requirements Ability to read and understand financial statements and tax returns Curiosity to go beyond the textbook, asking hard questions and using technical skills to provide solutions to client problems Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex financial and tax information to those within the firm as well as to clients and their advisors Ability to keep up with tax trends, IRS guidance, legislation, etc. and communicating updates with the firm Willingness to travel occasionally overnight up to 10% annually Bonus Qualifications: Transaction modeling and cash flow planning Desire and ability to review and consult on legal documents for transactions to make sure the ideas are properly implemented Experience using technical skills to develop new solutions to complex client problems Masters or LLM in Taxation What’s in it for you: A people-centered culture, with fun included among our core firm values A robust training and development program designed to help you discover your distinct abilities and use them to grow yourself and the firm More freedom to explore your areas of interest A fast track to leadership and influence for those who pursue it Pinion offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401k/profit-sharing, holidays, flexible work arrangements, and paid leave. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $85,000 - $195,000. Remote Eligibility: This position is US - Remote Eligible.
