The Frontend Foundations team is the team that owns core frontend tools and systems that affect every Frontend engineer at Plaid. They own Plaid’s design system (the tools and how it looks/feels in production), and frontend development standards at Plaid (including our build, deploy, and core frameworks).
The team works closely with all Frontend engineers, but most closely with the key Plaid frontends: Link (our primary bank linking product), the Plaid Dashboard, and Plaid.com.
Responsibilities
- You’ll collaborate closely with designers to co-design high-quality experiences, and own shipping it into production.
- You will build and productionize designs that incorporate animations and transitions.
- You’ll work with a team that owns the frontend design system that supports all other frontend engineers at Plaid, and work on projects across some of the highest visibility and most important frontends at Plaid.
- You will work closely with a highly iterative, cross-functional team (especially with Designers) to understand product requirements and legal constraints to build the next-generation core account linking experience for consumers and customers.
- You will partner with other teams across Plaid, working closely with other engineering teams as well as Product, Design, Data Science, and more to iterate on and productionize new products and improve existing products.
- You will own and lead projects, support other frontend engineers, advocate for technical and process changes, mentor more junior engineers, and follow best practices to increase overall system reliability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as an engineer working on frontend, with strong skills in at least one frontend framework (e.g. React).
- Attention to detail and an eye for high-quality UX.Excellent coding and testing skills.
- Experience as a project lead, working with other engineers, and other functions (product, design, data science) to drive execution.
- A portfolio of your past frontend work.
- [Nice-to-Have] Experience working with design tools, like Figma.
