PlayOn! Sports

Remote HybridAlpharetta, GA
Help shape how high school athletic and activities programs connect with their communities.

Were looking for a strong writer who can turn product benefits into clear, useful content that speaks to athletic directors, coaches, performing arts directors, and school leaders.

What you’ll do: You’ll write across formats—emails, blog posts, web pages, social posts, sales decks, and more. You’ll work closely with our lead gen and creative teams to build campaigns that speak to coaches, ADs, and school leaders. Youll also turn longer assets like whitepapers or webinars into short-form content that’s easy to share. There’s some RFP and sales proposal writing in the mix, too. Your work will shape how schools learn about our tools and what makes PlayOn different.

What we’re looking for: You’ve got 3–5 years of writing experience, preferably in B2B or SaaS. Your portfolio shows clear, focused work—especially SEO content, email copy, and web pages. You’re comfortable working solo or with a team. You know how to simplify a complex idea and write with purpose. Bonus points for experience in sports marketing, sports journalism, or sports tech, as well as responding to RFPs and writing sales proposals. You manage your own deadlines and care about the details.

The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
· Increase lead quality and volume through targeted content that supports B2B campaigns—measured by improved click-through rates, conversions, and form completions.
· Improve the PlayOn thought leadership presence by publishing articles and assets that drive engagement and position the brand as a trusted voice in high school sports tech.
· Boost content efficiency and reach by repurposing long-form pieces into high-performing short-form content for social and email, leading to broader distribution and higher ROI per asset.

In This Role, You Can Expect To

  • Write, edit, and proofread content for various marketing channels, including: email campaigns, blog articles and long-form content/guides, web pages and landing pages, social media posts (primarily LinkedIn and X), proposals and presentations, and sales collateral and other written marketing materials
  • Collaborate with the lead gen and creative teams to develop content that supports brand goals and campaign objectives.
  • Repurpose long-form content (e.g., whitepapers, webinars) into bite-sized assets for social and email distribution.
  • Optimize content for SEO and track performance using analytics tools.
  • Develop thought leadership pieces to position PlayOn as an industry expert.
  • Stay current with B2B content trends, competitor strategies, and industry news.
  • Support the RFP process by writing and editing sales proposals and maintaining our central content library.

To Thrive in this Role, You Have

  • 3-5 years of professional writing experience, ideally in a marketing environment
  • Portfolio showing SEO-driven blogs, emails, social posts, and web/landing pages
  • Skill in distilling complex topics into clear, actionable content
  • Proven ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications/PR, Marketing, Journalism or related field
  • Familiarity with content publishing platforms and marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot)
  • Ability to self-manage multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Bonus: Experience in sports marketing, sports journalism, or sports tech
  • Bonus: Experience responding to RFPs and/or writing sales proposals
  • 2-3 writing samples are required at application

How You Play

  • Ownership over Participation- You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.

  • Team over Stars- You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You work to rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.

  • Growth over Comfort- You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.

  • Fairness over Popularity- You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging your assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact rather than relying on short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
