About the Role
Become a valuable member of the PlayStation Developer Experience Team, contributing to the revolution of how developers and designers access, navigate, and use documentation. As a Software Engineer II, you will be part of the Documentation Platform and Search Group, developing powerful cloud-based tools that promote knowledge sharing, streamline workflows, and optimize content discoverability.
Bridge the gap between engineering and design at PlayStation by improving collaboration and efficiency through a new documentation ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize cloud-based documentation tools tailored for developers and designers, enhancing accessibility and usability.
- Build and integrate search experiences that enable users to find relevant technical and design documentation quickly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify difficulties and create intuitive solutions that improve workflows.
- Work on search indexing, metadata structuring, and API integrations to enhance documentation discoverability and usability.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance optimizations to ensure scalability, reliability, and seamless user experience.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies in developer tooling, cloud platforms, and intelligent search solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, building tools, frameworks, or internal developer/designer solutions.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and React is required with additional experience in React Native, Python, or C++ being a plus. Familiarity with modern web and cloud-based architectures is preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and search technologies like Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, and advanced search engines, is a plus.
- Experience in building documentation platforms, content management systems (CMS), or knowledge-sharing tools is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex challenges in search optimization and knowledge accessibility.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, effectively working with developers, designers, and product teams.
- Passion for enhancing developer and designer workflows through high-impact documentation tools and seamless information access.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
