The Analytics Team is tasked with creating and managing analytics tools and workflows to support PrizePicks across all departments, with data at the heart of these operations. As a Senior Analytics Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining the core datasets, models, and delivery of data to other analytics functions such as Financial Analytics, Executive Reporting, Customer Insights, Product Analytics, and Data Science. 

You will enable fast, reliable, and quality analytics across the business, unlocking faster time to insight, accounting book close, and model delivery. Your work will empower business growth as we scale across the analytics organization and broader business. You will push our data systems to new heights as we deliver new datasets, products, and services across the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analytics engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
    • Define and drive the strategic vision for analytics engineering, ensuring alignment with business objectives and data strategy.
    • Serve as a thought leader and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize key business questions and analytics needs.
  • Data Architecture & Engineering:
    • Architect and manage scalable data solutions, including data pipelines, transformation frameworks, and analytics models.
    • Develop and maintain an enterprise-level data model and oversee the organization’s data warehouse and data lake strategy.
    • Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and security.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead project scoping, planning, and execution for analytics initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
    • Manage project resources, timelines, and dependencies, communicating risks and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with Finance, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Product, and IT teams to design and implement end-to-end analytics solutions.
    • Advocate for data-driven decision-making by providing thought leadership on analytics methodologies and the use of data assets.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership to align data initiatives with business priorities.
  • Technology & Tools:
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, analytics engineering, analytics, and data visualization.
    • Recommend and implement new tools, platforms, and methodologies to improve data accessibility, performance, and usability.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related role, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Expert SQL, expert data modeling (DBT or a like tool), ETL development, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, or Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of data pipelines and transformation workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, set priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong understanding of accounting principles and how data is leveraged for accounting processes.

Where you’ll live:

  • Anywhere in the US is fine but Atlanta would be preferred.
