Our Sr. Physical Distribution Automation Engineering is transforming our 7 distribution centers in the United States from a highly manual working environment into a fully automated, digitally enabled fulfillment centers focused on delivering incremental value to our customers and consumers. Our strategy is based on leveraging the experience of key automation partners to develop fulfillment platforms for storage and retrieval. Technologies include but are not limited to Automated Guided Vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Automated Picking Solutions, High Density Storage Solutions (4-way Shuttles).
In this role, you will be responsible to partner with Integrators, OEMs (original equipment manufacturer) and the operations platform teams to develop platform solutions to meet our distribution business needs. You will be accountable to enable value added standardization across regions/organizational units/strategic partners. You will gain work experience in technical mastery of leading-edge warehousing technologies. You will work with automated guided vehicles, layer and case picking, automated storage retrieval systems, etc. and how they impact site flow. Transportation and Warehouse operations work processes and associated with a customer facing challenges.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner within the Platform to develop and maintain robust platform solutions.
- Operations within Fulfillment Centers are uniquely linked such that each technology must work in harmony to deliver the required throughput, responsiveness and value to your Market Operations customers.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the OPT (Operational Platform Team).
- You will be accountable to define Mechanical solutions to meet Platform business need, develop standardized solutions across the platform, ensure mechanical and electrical synchronization in master plan, own the tech doc system and approve all engineering deliverables for all CMPs (Content Management Platforms).
- The candidate must have effective communication and collaboration skills, a strong sense of urgency and capability to influence and drive rigor within a team of functional partners (Engineering, Operations, QA, Finance and Contractors) to find value added, low-cost solutions and mitigate business risks. Strong communication and presentation skills as well as ability to receive and provide feedback are also needed.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electric Engineering or relevant field.
- 5-7 mechanical electrical automation, with experience in concept development, scope definition, design, and pilot site delivery.
- Knowledge and experience in platform life cycle management and equipment design management.
- Experience with EWP (Engineering Work Process) and project execution is essential.
