YOUR ROLE:

As the DAM Admin/Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the agencys Digital Asset Management system. This is a crucial role for ensuring that creative assets (such as images, videos, documents, and templates) are efficiently stored, easily accessible, and correctly tagged for use across various teams, including creative, marketing, production, and external partners. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that the DAM system supports the agencys overall creative workflow, streamlining asset retrieval and enhancing collaboration across departments.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

DAM System Management

  • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and updates of the DAM platform.
  • Manage user permissions, access controls, and metadata templates to ensure appropriate usage and security of assets.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot DAM system performance, address issues, and provide support to end users as needed.
  • Ensure the DAM system is integrated with other internal tools (e.g., project management software, creative production tools, and external cloud services).

Asset Organization and Metadata Management

  • Organize and tag assets using metadata standards and categories to ensure consistency and ease of search and retrieval.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for uploading, storing, and archiving digital assets (images, videos, documents, etc.).
  • Work with creative and marketing teams to develop and manage metadata taxonomies that are aligned with the agency’s workflow and client needs.

Collaboration and Training

  • Train and support users across departments on best practices for using the DAM system, including uploading assets, applying metadata, and searching for assets.
  • Collaborate with the creative, account management, and production teams to ensure the DAM system meets their needs and supports their project timelines.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for teams using the DAM system.

Quality Control and Governance

  • Ensure that digital assets are compliant with brand guidelines and that all files are correctly versioned and tagged.
  • Monitor the integrity and consistency of the asset library and perform regular audits to ensure the system remains organized and up to date.
  • Manage the digital asset lifecycle, including archiving or deleting outdated content, and ensuring that assets are kept current and relevant.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Generate regular reports on system usage, asset search patterns, and storage health.
  • Track and report any technical issues or improvements to management for system optimization.
  • Provide insights into asset usage and asset request trends to help with future planning and procurement of digital content.

Process Improvement and Automation

  • Continuously evaluate workflows and processes related to asset management to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements or system automation.
  • Recommend new tools or practices to improve DAM operations or integration with other software tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Library Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Digital Asset Management or Project Management are a plus.

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience working with DAM platforms in an advertising or marketing environment.
  • Experience in managing creative digital assets (images, video, audio, documents) in a fast-paced agency or creative setting.
  • Familiarity with creative software tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based storage solutions and metadata standards is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with DAM platforms (e.g., Frontify, Bynder, Widen, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of file formats (MP4, MOV, PNG, JPEG, PDF, etc.), version control, and storage best practices.
  • Working knowledge of metadata tagging and taxonomy creation to organize and categorize assets.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and web-based technologies may be an advantage.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

RAPPs current hybrid model is designed to enable in-person connections and collaboration that is core to our culture, while also supporting flexibility for all employees. As such, we have the option to work from home two days per week, if wed like.

This range is specific to Chicago and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
