RavenPack is looking to boost its Operational Service Levels by creating an entire new team to drive excellence on real time operations and incident response. As the organization is deeply immersed in releasing new product paradigms, we expect this new team leader to be at par with the organization needs of strategic leadership.

The System Reliability Engineer Manager will play a critical role in establishing and leading a team responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and reliability of our real time services and IT infrastructure. This individual will be instrumental in setting up processes, defining best practices, and creating a culture of proactive incident prevention and rapid response.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in SRE, system administration, DevOpsroles, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, cloud platforms (AWS is a must), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.

  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to motivate and inspire a team, delegate effectively, and drive results.

  • Project Management Skills: Experience on Project Management methodologies (Agile, waterfall) will be required.

  • Passion for Reliability: A deep commitment to ensuring system uptime, performance, and customer satisfaction.


Desired

  • Experience maintaining real time services (ITIL, ISO2000 or other ITSM frameworks experience would be considered)

  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash)

  • Experience with database administration (Oracle, PostgreSQL)

  • Experience with security best practices and incident response (familiarity with ISO27001, SOC2 will be greatly considered)


Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a team of System Reliability Engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting knowledge sharing.

  • Infrastructure Reliability: Design, implement, and manage monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to identify and resolve issues before they impact customers.

  • Incident Response: Setup 1st Tier response team to cover RavenPack’s 24x7 real time services operational needs.

  • Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

  • Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Automation: Automate routine tasks and processes to reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and improve operational efficiency.

  • Change Management: Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth and safe deployment of new features and updates.

  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on system architecture, processes, and procedures.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, security, and other teams to promote a DevOps culture and ensure system reliability is a shared priority.
