This Strategic Engagement Leader (SEL) role within the CORE Office specializes in the application of advanced CORE methods to direct complex, Raytheon-wide strategic initiatives to achieve business results. The role serves as a strategic CORE resource for cross-SBU and functional business problems warranting complex evaluation, strategic thinking and agile problem solving. Skills in statistics and data science, lean value and flow, project management, process maturity, problem solving (including root cause analysis) and change management enable the success of this role. A successful SEL will network with exceptional influencing skills, use polished executive presence to influence the organization, and spearhead executive-sponsored improvements, guiding many matrixed employees to achieve sustainable, high business impact targets. SEL’s also develop organizational capability, serving as coaches of CORE advanced methods for the business.
Top candidates will raise the performance levels of those they work with and supervise and provide the organizations they support with timely and thorough qualitative evaluation that supports business, program, and project decision making.

This is a “Remote” role.
What You Will Do:
- Focus on strategic initiatives aligned with the CORE Goal Alignment process
- Drive improvement across SBU and functional white space, with a focus on the biggest impact
- Drive EAC savings, program risk reduction/opportunity capture, cost reductions, schedule (cycle time) and quality improvements
- Coach and mentor CORE Experts in training and guide them through their certification journey.
- Deliver instructor led training on CORE methods and tools to the organization as needed.
- Shepherd these processes in the organization as the organization matures with CORE OS deployment.
- Partner to solve cross-business unit challenges impacting RTX profitability.
- Leverage skills by helping RTX corporate with synergy opportunities, best practice sharing implementation and high stakes field failures Root Cause and Corrective Action.
Qualification You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics or Business and twelve (12) years of experience in the following areas;
- CORE Expert or other equivalent certifications
- Experience influencing stakeholders and working across the organization with proven communication, project management, and change management skills
- Documented experience in one or more of the following;
- Process improvement
- Cost reduction
- EAC improvement
- Business model realignment and/or related efforts.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance within one year is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced skillsets in statistics or industrial engineering
- Experience in defense industry and knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Proficiency in Data Analytic tools, R, Minitab, Excel/Access/Power BI
- Proficiency in Lean Mixed Model Value Streams
- Experience guiding, training and coaching Lean and 6Sigma methods & tools
- Deep understanding of cost reduction, EAC improvement, and synergy creation

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
