We seek a highly analytical and strategic Innovation Strategy Analyst to join our team. This role will be critical in evaluating new digital health market opportunities, creating financial models, and supporting strategic decision-making for emerging innovations and new use cases. This position focuses on supporting the Digital Health services strategy.

Financial modeling and analysis:

  • Build robust financial models to assess new business opportunities viability and potential ROI.

  • Perform scenario analyses to inform investment decisions.

  • Evaluate revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability metrics for new and existing offerings.

  • Support strategic partnership evaluations through modeling of potential terms.

Market research & competitive intelligence:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends, dynamics, and customer needs in digital health & wellness, medical technology, and overall health tech industry

  • Analyze market size, growth potential, and segmentation for potential opportunities

  • Track competitor landscape, emerging technologies, and investment trends

  • Develop insights from primary and secondary research, including industry reports, expert interviews, and consumer studies

Strategy support:

  • Support the development of business cases for new projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, operations, Korea and US based teams) to align strategic recommendations.

  • Identify opportunities for Samsung to offer differentiated solutions to meet health industry needs.

  • Evaluate build, buy, partnership, and investment options.

  • Develop the Samsung Health strategy with a U.S. focus and an eye to global expansion

Skills and Qualifications

Candidate Characteristics

  • Strong financial modeling skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to ask the right questions

  • Experience with market research methodologies

  • A passion for identifying growth opportunities in digital health

  • Passionate about improving health and healthcare transformation, creating great user experiences, and solving problems

  • Highly motivated and self-driven

  • Organized, detailed, goal-driven, and achievement oriented

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to “read the room” in new and unfamiliar environments

  • Able to function independently and thrives in a highly dynamic and often unstructured team environment

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a plus

  • Management consulting experience a plus

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Consumer-centric technology experience a plus

  • Track record of success in the development and execution of strategy to meet business objectives

  • Excellent written & oral communication skills with proven ability to provide clarity in complex situations and effectively communicate value propositions

  • Experience producing highly effective presentations to internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to prioritize and complete tasks to meet deadlines

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions

  • This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions. 

  • Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position. 

  • There will be some travel to develop & manage business goals

The salary range for this role, for candidates based in California, is expected to be between $120,000 and $155,000.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
