Settle is on a mission to make buying inventory super easy. Since the company’s inception in 2019, we’ve been building a cashflow management platform that allows founders and small business owners to more easily manage their company’s financial health with a mix of accounts payable and flexible financing tools. About the role:
As a Software Engineer on the Inventory & Procurement team at Settle, you will develop Settles inventory management software, enabling brands to effectively manage and forecast their inventory needs. Youll play a vital role in designing and building high-impact, results-oriented systems, products, and features. With strong product-market fit, organic growth, and a robust long-term roadmap, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team driving Settles ongoing success.
We are seeking versatile back-end engineers (some front-end exposure a plus) with a product-focused mindset to elevate our business to new heights. The ideal candidate excels in execution, thinks ahead, and can design durable foundational systems. They are adept at steering clear of scope creep while delivering incremental value. We want someone who is iterative in their approach, moves with agility, and places the customer at the forefront of their decision-making process.
What youll do:
- Design and build customer-facing features for inventory management that help small businesses manage cash flow and scale operations.
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to ensure features and systems are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with customer needs.
- Continuously improve engineering processes and coding best practices
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally within a customer-facing role or product-driven environment.
- Proficiency in backend development with experience in building and maintaining APIs. Experience in GraphQL is a plus.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or willingness to learn), with strong foundations in OOP and familiarity with ORM frameworks.
- Experience in relational databases such as Postgres and MySQL.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Ability to collaborate with product managers, designers and frontend engineers to define and deliver quality features.
- Ability to accurately estimate tasks and stick to deadlines.
Compensation:
This role has an annual starting salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 + equity + benefits. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to your individual skills and experience.
