The Area Sales Team Leader is a dynamic role for sales professionals looking to take the next step in their managerial career development while continuing to directly sell. The Area Sales Team Leader will lead a team of 3-4 sales professionals while also directly selling and meeting their own individual sales targets. The Automation Team Lead will be focused on selling to mechanical contractors with an emphasis on winning new construction opportunities and new customers.

In this position, you will achieve booking and profit goals by capitalizing on sales opportunities within the territory and applying your knowledge of digital service technologies to existing building challenges.
As an Area Sales Team Leader, you will:
- Combine direct sales as an individual and management responsibilities, meeting individual sales quotas while selling Siemens Automation solutions directly to mechanical contractors.
- Understand market trends, competitors, customers, and decision influencers; stay up to date on automation and IoT market trends.
- Craft vertical market and account plans for strategic growth, identifying new opportunities and developing “go to market” strategies.
- Maintain a qualified opportunity funnel individually and for your team, achieve new order goals, collaborate with internal teams, attend industry events (ASHRAE, AEE, USGBC), and position Siemens as a digital service leader.
- Consult with customers on technology needs, set pricing based on value, and actively participate in senior level selling and coaching.
- Work with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources to obtain the sale.
- Travel up to 15% for training and business development.
- Lead, coach, and manage employee performance while ensuring accurate proposals and adherence to company standards.
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
- 5+years of sales experience in Building Automation or a related field
- Must be able to demonstrate:
- Financial expertise estimating and selling technical solutions and service offerings effectively and independently
- Account development and strategic sales skills and
- Organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills
- On-the-job experience selling to end users/owners
- Verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with limited violations
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- This position supports a Siemens customer that requires all employees and vendors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 where permitted by applicable law and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or related field
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM
- Software, IoT, and networking experience
- Experience in the life sciences, healthcare, education, data center, and commercial office vertical markets
- Demonstrable understanding of how to market, position, and sell cloud-based, data-driven service programs such as fault detection and diagnostics to existing and new customers

- The pay range for this position is $82,320 - $141,120 plus an uncapped commission structure. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
